Thankfully, Stone has a pretty nice site here with the familiar Pinguinite set up so hopefully some of the nicer folks from there will come over and make themselves comfortable.
I've never been a prolific poster at either site, but I had largely migrated over here earlier when the infamous "vomit" post was made. I posted a little bit more over there when it came to light that Goldi had passed away (may she rest in peace) but now the plug is being pulled.
In the end, I think that it is for the best. I sincerely doubt that Goldi would have wanted her site to wind up either as a libertarian-style free for all (her election time bannings should be proof of that) or wind up with a leftist like Pericles / Destro.
And that, I think, was part of the fundamental problem. Some people kept asking about keeping LP up and to have it run "like Goldi would have done". Well, moderating has a big subjective component to it. She censored things that bothered her, Stone and other site owners do the same.
in terms of format, this site is pretty much like LP was. And really IMHO the posting climate is not hugely different either. Stone has been pretty even- handed with people while I've been here, IMHO. Hopefully, if some of the nicer people from LP are looking for a new home, they will feel welcome here.

As far as my sex, I'm a man. I chose the screen name well over 20 years ago on another chat site and took Orthodoxa because Orthodox was already taken. It isn't like Spanish or some other Romance language, I just phoneticized the Greek roots of the word. "Ortho" means "Right" and "Doxa" means "Glory".
So often people interpret the word Orthodox as meaning that someone is dogmatic, but as the roots of the word indicate, it merely means that one is trying to give proper glory (to God). A type of hymn called a Doxology comes from the same root.
Here's one of the shortest Doxologies that I'm familiar with, this one is Protestant in origin.
