In this thread I am asking the LP community to vote on whether the site ownership is to transfer to one of the prospective new owners, continue as it has been while I seek someone suitable to take it over, or close it down since it was Goldi's baby. (What I would most likely do in the last case, BTW, would be to retain the domain name and put up a short memorial page for Goldi in replacement of LP, a kind of virtual tombstone. I suggest that if someone takes over the site they put up some type of memorial but that of course would be up to them.) Eligibility: All members in good standing who have posted within the last 12 months get a vote. I am giving Willie Green special dispensation as he was a long-time member who was possibly banned without just cause and has only recently returned. Those who registered after the posting of the ownership change discussion thread are ineligible. This is to prevent sock puppets from "padding" the ballet box. (New registrations have been set to "Lurker" status in order to prevent this as well.)
Those posting a vote that I do not recognize as being active LP participants will be checked against the database to verify eligibility.
Please limit your response to this post to a single line containing one of the following options:
1. tpaine
2. Pericles
3. status quo (sysadmin)
4. shut down LP
If you feel the need to discuss the merits or demerits of these various options please do not post that here, please take it to the existing ownership change discussion.
I will leave this thread open overnight to give a fair chance for people to cast their votes, then lock it down to do a tally.
