I have received the following email from tpaine, who has offered to take over financial responsibility for LP but is not interested in moderating the site. Be aware that moderation implies control over content and a moderator may also be the target of litigation. (Lawyers tend to latch onto anyone even remotely involved in a situation to see what will stick.) Feel free to discuss this and at the end we would need to take a vote of active posters in good standing. If the site ownership is turned over to tpaine I would end my moderation of the site and cancel the plans to move it to my own server. Message follows: "At this time I would like to make a formal offer to pay the bill for hosting and domain registration, and to assume the liability for lawsuits, -- As 'the owner'. --- However, I have no interest in moderating the site and would hope that someone who could get the approval of at least 75% of the currently active members would take on that job. I would also hope that the site could retain the services of someone like Neil McIver to deal with tech issues. Please post this on the site, seeing that you refuse to allow me to post comments."

I hope elPee survives. I might be a wise guy, but I'm not hateful. Go look up tpaine on FR...he's been posting for at least 18 years. He didn't deserved to be banned on elPee. sysadmin is well intentioned and is doing well keeping the flame lit.

That's true, literacy is important, but just as important as literacy is, so is comprehension. Not everyone can bring up the words for how they feel in the way another would choose, but if you have a fare amount of comprehension then you will know what they are trying to say. I don't always say things the way they should be said, but they are true, and they come from my heart.

(I am not acquainted with Pericles but note that Goldi had no negative comments about him in the user database.) Tpaine has stated a requirement for 75% of the vote to take over. If that is not achieved, we can decide between the remaining choices based on the highest number of remaining votes, or have a runoff. sysadmin posted on 2015-01-10 Now the vote will be a choice between tpaine, and PericlesDestro. Yikes! tpaine is shining like a dime on a goats ass, compared to Destro.

Neither were banned. I offended war by asking if his mother was the missing link. Destro/Godwinson got pissed and said this was a racist site.
I said it a million times, my thinking is framed by European style Christian Democratic/Social Market ideology which is the dominant conservative ideology both in terms of party membership and geographic spread around the world. Thank you Stone, the missing link.... Destro=Godwinson=Pericles.
Not sure but I think Destro stopped posting at TPF because the audience declined to a handful, plus it was a closed site - had to be registered to lurk. I think either tpaine or Pericles would be acceptable owners and moderators. Maybe they can let tpaine own and Destro moderate as a compromise solution. Like I said earlier, the place self-moderates quite nicely. I find it difficult to believe that long time posters Palmhair and tater/Gatlin put their tails between their legs and scampered off like they did.
It is bizarre, no? And tpaine managed to pull it off while suspended. Even better, they're probably wishing they hadn't opused over tpaine as owner since now they missed their chance to opus over Destro instead! LOL. Life is full of small regrets.

The only logical reason for the clowns to scamper at the possibility of email disclosure, is that they were all connected personas, (which we've all suspected), but really, who cares? -- It's bizarre indeed. In any case, the vote is on over at LP, and odds are our anonymous sysadmin will 'win', which will be fine with me. I've made a legitimate offer, but without a volunteer moderator to actually run the site, I'd be in over my head. I think TooConservative would be ideal to be that moderator. If the anonosysadmin wins, I'd predict the site is dead within a year.
tpaine, I voted for you, good luck. With some of the klan gone, it may be a lot more peaceful.
Thanks for your support, but don't hold your breath for any 'peaceful ownership'. I'm willing ( but not eager) and I doubt it'll ever happen, -- as you can see by the vote to date.
