CARVER – Police say someone shot an ear of corn through a police cruiser’s windshield using a makeshift device.
Police say the corn, which had previously been described only as a “projectile,” damaged the cruiser but did not cause any injuries. At least two other cars have been hit by objects fired at them near Purchase and Callow streets in the last week.
Police said the cruiser was hit late Tuesday night as the officer was responding to a report of another vehicle getting hit by a projectile. The driver of the other car said she saw someone getting up off the ground just before the corn was fired.
Carver police officer Dennis Rizzuto said he saw an ear of corn come through his windshield. The driver of the other car hit, a Mercedes, said the car was left with $700 in damage to the grille.
On Monday, another driver reported that the windshield was shattered after an object struck the vehicle. No injuries have been reported.

Sounds like what we used to do as kids throwing snowballs, lure a cop into a small area and about 10-12 of us would blast his cruiser and then hightail it.
