Mark 16:9-20 (all 12 verses) -- There is a line separating the last 12 verses of Mark from the main text. Right under the line it says: [The two most reliable early manuscripts do not have Mark 16:9-20] (NIV, 1978 ed.) That is why the Jehovah's Witnesses leave it out. They do not believe in the trinity and they do not believe that Jesus is God. Why does the NIV leave it out...? Whole books have been written on the manuscript evidence that supports inclusion of this verse in the Bible. Reader, do you believe in the triunity of God? If so, then this deletion should offend you. People are playing around with the Bible and it ain't funny. NIV Reader: Do you have enough confidence in the NIV to... Wow! I had to check for myself, sure enough they are missing in the online version.
Why does it seem to be compatible with the Jehovas Witness "Bible"? I find that strange and intriguing.
I found this article on the same topic. Interesting.
I read your link. When my kids went to christian school. They had to do memory verses. They wanted to memorize the NIV version. But I was adamate that they memorize the harder King Jamees version. It always bothered me that they used the NIV. In the NIV you can find out that Jesus is a sinner. Let me explain. I'm not sure what verse but anyone can find it and I will if asked. Anyhow the NIV says that to be angry is a sin. It also says that Jesus was angry. So according to the NIV Jesus is a sinner. The KJV makes it clear that to be angry without cause is the sin and not just being angry. That is why I have never liked the NIV since I read these things. I stick with the KJV. I'm sure the Bishops Bible or Geneva Bible would also be correct.
