I think the cops were wrong to shoot the man. He posed no immediate threat to them. None at all in my opinion. It should have been handled differently. They don't belong on the police force.

I think it is you that doesn't get it.
It has nothing to do with his skin color. He could have been a direct descendant of Snow White and the result would have been the same due to cops being trigger-happy punks whose first instinct is to start shooting.
This would have happened only rarely back in the 50's and early 60's.
