Title: The GOP self-destruction is complete: millennials officially hate conservatives

Conservatives are stuck in a perpetual outrage loop.

The reappearance of Todd Akin, the horror-movie villain immortality of Sarah Palin, the unseemly celebration of the Hobby Lobby decision – these all speak to a chorus of "la-la-la-can't-hear-you" loud enough to drown out the voice of an entire generation. Late last week, the Reason Foundation released the results of a poll about that generation, the millennials; its signature finding was the confirmation of a mass abandonment of social conservatism and the GOP. This comes at a time when the conservative movement is increasingly synonymous with mean-spirited, prank-like and combative activism and self-important grand gestures. The millennial generation has repeatedly defined itself as the most socially tolerant of the modern era, but one thing it really can't stand is drama.

Republicans were already destined for piecemeal decimation due to the declining numbers of their core constituency. But they don't just have a demographic problem anymore; they have stylistic one. The conservative strategy of outrage upon outrage upon outrage bumps up against the policy preferences and the attitudes of millennials in perfect discord.

Conservatives are stuck in a perpetual outrage loop.

The right wing appeals to an ever shrinking demographic.....

Their message hasn't changed since the Clinton administration - and most of the voting public no longer choose to sit with the choir to which the angry right is preaching............

Then why is Obozos approval rating so low with millennials?

A person that votes for Leftards, RightTards, or Faux Conservatives is like a chicken that votes for Col Sanders!

1. Care to support your claim with some facts?

2. Did you read the article?

3. Do you dispute the premise of the article? Please explain.

Yea I read that mess and had to laugh. It seemed to think anybody and everybody to the Right of Al Franken and Barney Frank was a Conservative. LOL.

Millennials have been turning against Obozo for awhile now, ever since they first helped elect his dumbass.

"Evidence comes in from various polls. Voters under 30, the Millennial generation, produced numbers for Barack Obama 13 percentage points above the national average in 2008 and 9 points above in 2012".

Looks like some of them are getting wiser as they get older. Why haven't you?

That was almost a year ago wonder what it is today?

First - cite your sources.... which polls??

Second - This article really has nothing to do with support for the president, does it? What the article speaks to is the lack of interest in the positions of "conservatives" by the younger generation.... - yes?

So here is the point to ponder.... what will "conservatives" do to attract a growing demographic that shares few if any of their core beliefs?

Do you see the error in that statement? Or are you to busy choking on O?

No, I believe the author expressed her point quite well.

What problem do you have with it?

Really? All that is required to refute pure specualtion? LOL.

Originally I was going to play along using Leftard website speculation, but after thinking about it drinking a few whiskey sours and pulling weeds in the yard is more important. Nighty night.

I understand.

You have nothing. No sources for your claims, and no argument as to how "conservatives" will compete for the votes of younger voters.

No problem.

I expected as much.

(Whiskey Sours??? what are you, 70? ... well, Drink up Shriner!)

What don't you understand???

Polls are only about a small part of a demographic so I.E. it's pure speculation on how millennials really feel. The author would have had to poll EVERY SINGLE MILLENNIAL IN THE COUNTRY for the article to mean a damn thing.

That's about another 15 years down the road.

Different whiskies taste different so different mixers are appropriate. With some whiskies you could just drink neat, some on the rocks, some on the rocks with a splash of water, some with 7UP, some with ginger ale, some with Vernor's, some with Coke/Pepsi so forth and so on.

I don't really like to use carbonated beverages as a mixer with whiskey and the one I usually drink goes well with a sour mix so why not. Besides that I make my own sour mix using frozen lemonade and frozen limeade in equal parts so I can make a gallon of mixer for about $2. Tastes much better than the sour mixers you can buy and it's much cheaper.
