Atheist Dawkins: Fairy tales harmful to children 'Pernicious to inculcate a view of the world which includes supernaturalism'
(The Independent) Professor Richard Dawkins has questioned whether telling children fairy tales could be harmful because they inculcate a view of the world which includes supernaturalism.
The evolutionary biologist, a leading atheist and author of books including The Selfish Gene and The God Delusion, told an audience at the Cheltenham Science Festival that he stopped believing in religion when he was about eight after having seen through Santa Claus when he was just 21 months old.
He suggested children should be taught scientific rigour from an early age.

Watch Ben Stein's movie "EXPELLED: NO INTELLIGENCE ALLOWED." It's a frightening revelation of what's going on with our colleges and universities, and how "intelligent design" serves as a lightning rod to censure, censor and/or fire those professors who dare to permit debate and questions on the existence of God in their classrooms. The schools punish professors if they don't tow the scientific line, such as Dawkins' beliefs.
By the by....Dawkins is interviewed throughout this movie (which is hilarious at times, as per Ben Stein's brilliance) and he admits he cannot explain the initial composite from which all other things evolved and continue to evolve. It's as near as Dawkins gets to admitting there IS a higher authority that created something....
Ben Stein as our president?
I'd vote for the brilliant economist/humorist in a hot second!

So Dawkins does not believe the theory of evolution should be taught to children. I agree.
