December 10, 2013 - Obama Approval Plunge Pulls Down Democrats, Quinnipiac University National Poll Finds; Hike Minimum Wage, Voters Say More Than 2-1

President Barack Obama's job approval among American voters drops to a new low, a negative 38 - 57 percent, as the outlook for Democrats running for Congress and the U.S. Senate fades also, according to a national poll released today. He even gets a negative 41 - 49 percent among voters 18 to 29 years old and a lackluster 50 - 43 percent approval among Hispanic voters.

The president's job approval compares to a negative 39 - 54 percent score in a November 12 survey by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University.

Today, Obama gets negative scores of 6 - 92 percent among Republicans, 30 - 62 percent among independent voters, 31 - 64 percent among men, 44 - 49 percent among women and 29 - 65 among white voters. Approval is 76 - 18 percent among Democrats and 85 - 9 percent among black voters.

American voters say 41 - 38 percent that they would vote for a Republican over a Democrat for the U.S. House of Representatives, the first time this year the Democrats come up on the short end of this generic ballot. Independent voters back Republican candidates 41 - 28 percent. Voters also say 47 - 42 percent that they would like to see Republicans gain control of the U.S. Senate and the House. Independent voters go Republican 50 - 35 percent for each.

"A rousing chorus of Bah! Humbug! for President Barack Obama as American voters head into the holidays with little charitable to say about the president," said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute.

While the STOOOPID Party GOPers are still fully capable of screwin' the pooch, the RATS are setting themselves up for a hell of a shellacking come next November. If the Pubbies can rid themselves of a number of whiney, BigGuv'ment RINOS in the Senate primaries, it's a good bet that Obama will be dealing with GOP majorities in BOTH the Senate and the House come January 2015...MUD

Obama approval and Obamacare ratings in the CBS/NYT poll are less awful than when the website did not work at all. The Quinnipiac poll is more negative.

Now the back end does not work at all, with parts of it not having been built. The reconciliation software remains vaporware. While one fourth of Oct/Nov applications were flawed and unusable or unreceived by the insurers. The application to calculate and pay subsidies to insurers remains vaporware.

In January, as people begin to experience the real pain of the (Un)Affordable Insurance Act, these ratings are likely to return to the most awful and go down from there, especially when the rates are recalculated for 2015 (around mid 2014), and when the employer mandate kicks in and tens of millions of policies get discontinued.

Views of Obamacare improve, but are still negative overall

Ten days after the Obama administration's deadline to fix the glitches with its troubled HealthCare.gov website, most Americans (58 percent) don't think the signup for the new health care exchanges is going well, but more than a third – 36 percent -- think it is improving, according to a new CBS News/New York Times poll.

The poll finds some improvement in overall views of the health care law since last month, although more Americans disapprove than approve of it, as they have since the law was passed. Fifty percent now disapprove of the health care law, while 39 percent approve. These percentages are similar to polls conducted earlier in the fall, but are more positive compared to last month, when disapproval reached an all-time high of 61 percent.

[...]

In particular, there has been an improvement in the way Americans view the job President Obama is doing handling health care. While most Americans still disapprove of his handling of it, approval has risen nine points since November, from 32 percent (a record low) to 41 percent today.

This will continue to get worse for the Democrats. It will be very difficult to change the political topic from Obamacare when its effects become greater and more painful. They can't spin someone who pays more for less and loses their plan, their doctor, their hospital, and some prescriptions. It is looking more and more like universal Medicaid.

A large uptick in the number of people in the full-time workforce could do it, but that is not likely.

Well, even if the economy improves considerably in '14, the RATS are still stuck defending all the LIES they had to tell the sheeple to get Obamacare passed in the first place. That said, I am increasingly distrustful of the RINO leadership in both the Senate and House and the way they continue to attack any true conservatives who raise their voices against the outta control growth of DeeCee. Both Boehner and McConnell have got to be replaced ASAP.

Good to see you again, Mr. Chan...MUD
