PHOENIX, June 19 (Reuters) - The co-founder of the Minutemen civilian border patrol group that for several years watched for unauthorized immigrants crossing to Arizona from Mexico, was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of molesting three young girls. Chris Simcox, 52, who co-founded the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps in 2005, was booked into a Maricopa County jail in connection with the molestation of three girls under the age of 10, said Sergeant Tommy Thompson, a Phoenix police spokesman. Detectives with the department's Family Investigations Bureau developed "probable cause" that Simcox had sexual conduct with the girls during the past several months, Thompson said. No other details were immediately available. Simcox has denied the allegations to police. It was not known if he had an attorney. He faces two counts each of child molestation and sexual conduct with a minor, and one count of attempted child molestation. A former kindergarten teacher from California, Simcox co-founded the border watch group to highlight what he said was the government's failure to secure the porous southwest border with Mexico. Its force of housewives, office workers and veterans sat in lawn chairs in southern Arizona, spotting suspected migrants whom they reported to the U.S. Border Patrol, until the group disbanded in 2010. The U.S. Senate is debating comprehensive immigration reform that aims to tighten security on the border with Mexico while offering millions of illegal immigrants living in the United States a path to citizenship.

Simcox's bunch did, the rest of us patrolled the border using more advanced surveillance techniques. The invaders aren't totally stupid, if they see you sitting in a lawn chair, they'll just go around. They have lots of eyes and ears on both sides of the border. Simcox is the one who came up with the "no guns' policy, then he goes and gets busted in a park with one. His love of political correctness is disgusting.
What was that other group, that broke away from Simcox's group and started their own gig? They had their own forum. I don't remember what they called themselves now, but a guy and his wife ran the forum. They ran Simcox's forum before that. They ran Ann Coulter's forum before that. Do you know who I'm talking about?
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong because that Minuteman bitch-fest only interested me for maybe 15 seconds,but weren't these same charges made years ago?

What I remember of all those groups is there was enough inner-drama involved with all of them to have keep a dozen teebee soap operas going for decades.

Half way through the April 2005 border watch in Arizona, Jim Gilchrist and the Minuteman Project (MMP) separated themselves from Simcox's Civil Homeland Defense Corps, at which time Simcox changed the name to Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. I attended the announcement at the Bible College, and Gilchrist was supposed to handle the political end in DC, and Simcox the border operations. Most of us were none too happy about it.
I think it's time to call in our two experts, to settle this once and for all.
Yeah, I read yesterday that his ex-wife said that he came home drunk and tried to molest his own 14 year old daughter. When she ran out he just said he was giving her a leg massage. Don't know if any of that is true or not but that's what I read.
Yes, it was Patriots Border Alliance that I was thinking of. Tony and his wife ran their forum, after leaving MCDC because of lack of accountability regarding money. Tony ran the MCDC forum, then the PBA forum. The Coulter forum before that IIRC. TONS of drama every day. It was great. :o)
