LEFT WING LOONS Title: Black Leaders Deal Race Cards Black Leaders Deal Race Cards Written on Monday, July 15, 2013 by Ralph Barker Zimmerman was acquitted. The jury spoke. But, it still isn’t over. Most Americans are glad, thrilled even, as I am, that this seemingly endless trial is now history. There are other issues pressing, like maybe three Obama scandals that are still unresolved. However, not everyone is willing to let the Zimmerman story be put to rest. Al Sharpton and other black leaders were quick to stir the racial pot. They can’t allow the ethnic stew to cool off too long. If they do, they become irrelevant, lose their power and control over that population of color that looks to them for leadership. Sharpton was quick to respond to the Zimmerman verdict. Fox Nation, The Blaze, MSNBC and other news outlets reported his words: “I think that this is an atrocity, I think that it is, it is probably one of the worst situations that I have seen,” Sharpton said. “What this jury has done is establish a precedent that when you are young and fit a certain profile, you could be committing no crime, just bringing some Skittles and iced tea home to your brother and be killed and someone can claim self-defense, having been exposed with all kinds of lies, all kinds of inconsistencies.” Sharpton continued his remarks: we had to march to even get a trial–and even at trial, when he’s exposed over and over again as a liar, he is acquitted. This is a sad day in the country. I think that we clearly must move on to the next step in terms of the federal government and in terms of the civil courts. He said as reported in the New Haven Register: “It’s sad, but once again, the justice system has failed, and it’s sad to say, but it seems this is the American way. But, once again, America needs to change. We’ve got a lot more work to do. The same thing happened with the Sean Bell case, the Amadou Diallo case, even the (Rodney) King case until people started rioting in the streets” We have to admit that there are times when race does play into a trial. And, this is wrong, always wrong. Justice should be blind. However, we know that Lady Justice lifts her blinders and peeks every now and then and loses her neutrality. There is no defense for this. But, as long as human beings are involved, perfection will elude us. Fox’s Geraldo Rivera, whom I often disagree with, made a valid point on one of this past Sunday’s morning shows. He commented that Al Sharpton was quick to play the racial card while he, Jesse Jackson, and others are nowhere to be found while the slaughter of blacks takes place every day in Chicago and other major cities. Rivera stated that in this year alone 275 young black people have murdered each other just in Chicago. So, I join with Geraldo. Where are you Al? Where are you Jesse? Where are you NAACP? Do you really care? Are there not enough cameras there to make it worth your while? I personally feel very sorry and concerned for the millions of black citizens who allow these few black elites to keep them in tow and retard their social progress. I remember when then Congressman Allan West, who is an Afro-American, said almost exactly the same thing. He, however, said it in much stronger terms when appearing on the O’Reilly Factor. He used the plight of many blacks as similar to slaves on a plantation: “The people on that plantation are upset because they’ve been disregarded, disrespected and their concerns are not cared about….I’m here as the modern-day Harriet Tubman to kind of lead people on the underground railroad away from that plantation into a sense of sensibility…Some black leaders are “are nothing more than overseers over that plantation.” What is sadder still is that when a black person does excel in our society and is not a liberal, such as in the cases of Justice Clarence Thomas, former Representative Allen West, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Dr. Ben Carson, Pro-life activist Star Parker, economist Thomas Sowell, or radio commentator and former Presidential candidate Herman Cain, he or she is labeled an Uncle Tom (male) or an Aunt Jemima (female). I don’t know what the answers are, how to reduce racial tensions, when the tensions are artificially fueled and maintained by certain black leaders. There are many great and honorable black leaders on the other side of the political and religious spectrum, but they are conservatives and do not get the attention of the press. Their remedial efforts are effectively thwarted by being ignored. Hopefully, people will somehow begin to see through the deception. They will want to break free from their bondage. Abraham Lincoln said, “You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all of the time.” Let’s pray the former President is right.
