Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the 2008 Republican nominee for vice president responded to a Fox News Channel viewer’s Twitter question Saturday about the possibility of her and conservative talker Mark Levin abandoning the Republican Party and creating something called the “Freedom Party.”

Why is that?
Conservatives have fantasized about a third party since 1976 when Richard Viguerie tried to get Ronald Reagan to jump ship. It didn't work. Several right of center candiates have subsequently made attempts including Ron Paul in 1988, Ross Perot in 1992, Pat Buchanan in 2000, Bob Barr in 2008, and Howard Phillips in 1992, 1996, and 2000. It doesn't work and Palin is too smart to go anywhere. At most, this is a fundraising gimmick.
Why is that? My guess would be because she backed McCumStain to help him get re-elected...

In dealing with McCain Palin imo is just showing respect for the person who put her in the spotlight. I doubt she really likes his politics at all. If she didn't show him a little respect she would be called a traitor. The things she says and does I generally agree with. My guess is that she is conservative and doesn't hate Israel.
The way she was treated by him and his staff is the reason she didn't owe him anything... In fact the best thing she could have done was shut her mouth, because now her political career is going nowhere...She lost the trust of a lot of people because of that fiasco...

I don't have to think about leaving the GOP. I already have. I wouldn't even consider the Dems and the Libertarian Party's main campaign plank is legalizing illegal drugs. So, I won't vote GOP, Dems, or the Libertarian Party. Who does that leave? No one.
The Pubbie party left me circa 2004. I should have seen the One Party, two factions charade years earlier but I eventually figured it out. We need a second party, a third, etc. I see the system pretty well rigged to prevent that from happening at the national level. We're pretty much screwed.
