Yep, mythology written down by minions of a Roman king with an agenda should be treated that way. I love that parable in St Mark in which he states that Jesus describes rows of corn and ears of corn. I wonder how many of Jesus's followers understood what he was discussing since corn was not imported to the old world until the 1500s. What I find most interesting about this whole thing is how words can evolve and change their meanings over time. The Gospel of St Mark was supposedly written around 65 AD. If Jesus was talking about wheat or barley why not say so? A God giving out devine inspiration to the writers employed by King Constantine would have known there was a major grain that would usurp the name and cause confusion down the road. A God that can't anticipate major changes during the flow of time seems pretty useless. Could not God have known that a specific grain would be discovered only 1500 years and given that specific name?
