At the very least, a male heir seems to be a bad idea. This is not about his daughters. Sasha and Malia, by all accounts, are good kids on their way to becoming solid adult citizens. The same cannot be said of Obama’s “son,” Trayvon Martin. For those lucky enough not to know about this story that never deserved the title of “news,” two random men engaged in a scuffle. One of them ended up dead. Had George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin been of the same race, nobody outside of their families would have ever known their names. In an ideal world, even Jody Arias stabbing both men would not make any of them newsworthy. Yet when Martin, who is black, was killed by the non-black Zimmerman, grievance mongers across the political and racial spectrum smelled blood in the water as soon as Martin’s blood was spilled on the pavement. Only two people know the truth of what happened that night, and one of them is dead. Yet that has not stopped the speculation. Zimmerman said he killed Martin in self-defense. A trial serves the purpose of sorting out the facts. Black Congresswoman Sheila Jackson-Lee said that Martin was “hunted like a dog.” Her basis for that statement consists of her sharing Martin’s race and possessing a hunger for television coverage of herself. Some black leaders invoked Selma, Alabama because their lives require that every third sentence they utter consist of a noun, a verb, and Selma, Alabama. President Obama continued his trend of staying silent when moral clarity is required and speaking loudly when nobody asks or needs his opinion. He weighed in on the Martin case without having the facts because he is Barack Obama and he does that. His pious platitudes about how everybody else in America needs to look inward were not the low point in his waxing poetic. Even his claim about getting to “the bottom” of this situation was meaningless. The only thing this man has ever gotten to the bottom of is perhaps a bag of potato chips. That is assuming his wife has not confiscated them all. President Obama’s most galling comment was when he tried to inject himself personally into a situation that he could not possibly understand. “If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon.” To be fair, Obama said “look like.” He did not say his son would be Trayvon or even act like him. Semantics aside, the implication was clear. Trayvon was a good boy and an innocent victim because that is the narrative Obama and Jackson-Lee wanted. Guilty white liberals will claim that white conservative Republicans wanted the opposite narrative to be true. Actually, the few conservatives who cared either way just wanted the facts to come out, wherever they led. Now some facts are coming out despite a judge suppressing key pieces of evidence. The facts do not flatter any potential male Obama. Like his adoptive daddy President, Trayon Martin enjoyed copious amounts of recreational pharmaceuticals. Unlike his somewhat effeminate fake Father-in-Chief, Martin also had a propensity for violence. Drugs and violence are a combination that often leads to an unhappy life and a premature death. Released text messages show that Martin spoke in an urban slang that can barely be described as English. To be fair to Martin, he did attend public school, where most of the kids long ago replaced English with incoherent acronyms. Martin’s texts contained violence and misogyny. Barack Obama is nothing like Trayvon Martin. Martin grew up poor, urban, and black. Obama lived a life of privilege in Indonesia before coasting through the halcyon pace of life in Hawaii. Until he became a presidential candidate, he was far less likely to need law enforcement protection than Martin. He was also far less likely to cause another human being to need that protection. Trayvon enjoyed martial arts and fighting. Obama’s abilities in sports consist of insisting to anyone who will listen that he has abilities in sports. The biggest Obama hypocrisy on this issue stems from his most admirable quality. Obama is a good father. No good father would let a guy like Trayvon anywhere near his daughters. Obama once joked that a guy wanting to date his daughters should remember that Obama has “predator drones.” The daughters of presidents are high achievers. They hobnob with people possessing advanced degrees, real careers, good teeth (sans gold), good table manners, and proper breeding. They do not socialize in any capacity with people who, as the song says, have their “pants on the ground and their hat on sideways, acting like a fool.” Trayvon Martin was a human being, but people who live according to stereotypes should not be shocked when others view them through those very stereotypes. While Obama was chilling at Harvard, Trayvon appeared to be doing his best Tupac Shakur Thug Life imitation. Nobody truly knows if Trayvon Martin deserved to die except for he and Zimmerman. If Martin was the innocent victim, then Zimmerman deserves a cell and perhaps worse. If Martin was the aggressor, then yes, he met a just fate. What we do know is that Obama is nothing like Trayvon. Based on what we now know about Trayvon, Obama may wish to reassess the people he publicly attempts to bestow his genes on.
