......I've not been following much, but I'll take Oxbow, or Reolutionary, or Golencents.
Did you pick Oxbow in the Preakness?
I didn't have a Preakness pick as I just watched to see what would happen. I lost contact with reality for 30+ days and I'm almost caught up now.
I'll try to find a winner in the Belmont Stakes. So far, my picks this year haven't been so hot. I think there might be a filly or two at Belmont from what I've read. Oxbow might be a good pick right now - he had an off day in his last race.
Oxbow and Goldencents......alas, I didn't have an actual bet on them. :( Where I live there are no race tracks, or OTB set-ups, and we don't allow internet bettiing. :(
Regarding the Belmont....I would put a couple of dollars on him. I realize his chances are small--there being so many 'fresh' ponies coming into the race. And with all that said, Gary Stevens has won the Belmont==I believe more than once. And Gary is 'hungry' for continued success with his return to racing.
My last sentence in my previous reply should be Orb instead of Oxbow.
Belmont will likely have a full field of 15 and some fresh horses as you mention. I liked Golden Soul as a hunch bet in the Derby based solely on the name - finished second and paid handsomely. I wasn't able to bet the Derby at the time while on the high seas - I don't bet online although I may open an account some time in the future.
The Belmont Stakes will be exciting to watch.
I'm happy Gary Stevens won on Oxbow. He was at Churchill Downs about a week ago doing a live interview while standing in the paddock in his civvies. He didn't fare very well during the Spring Meet having no winners from 23 mounts at CD and moved his tack to California. He took a spill the other day out there and took a day off for bruised ribs.
I think you're confused about Stevens........he was retired for 7 years and was doing race commentary for one of the tv channels. He just came back into racing and has his tack based in California. And yep, he did take a spill the other day--took off his mounts on Sunday.
