Opinions/Editorials Title: NY Post, Gossip Girls Scramble to Slander Truthseekers “Hollywood has always been especially susceptible to outlandish trends and crazy theories. Are you surprised? Take a bunch of eccentric artsy people and subject them to a fascinating set of ideas (regardless of their credibility) and it just might look like this,” writes the Gossip Girls, following up on the heels of Jim Brogan, Jim Roberts, and the New York Post. “Charlie Sheen and Rosie O’Donnell are among celebrities backing the theory that the United States government was behind the 9/11 terror attacks.” Richard Johnson, in the Post, believes it is a “twisted theory that the United States government was behind the 9/11 terror attacks,” never mind plenty of historical precedent. But the Gossip Girls and the Post, of course, would rather you bone up on Angelina Joline’s “Baby Bungle” and the “Crying Girl” of American Idol and leave the history for the professors. According to Brogan, it is only “self-loathing anti-american types” who bother to ask questions when confronted with the plainly fallacious Brothers Grimm story that passes for the official version of events. Naturally, real Americans, the self-respecting type, never ask questions, and invariably take all government pronouncements as gospel truth, once again demonstrating the conman Joseph “Paper Collar” Bessimer was spot on: there’s a sucker born every minute. From the Cardiff Giant and alligators in the sewers of New York to Arlen Specter’s Magic Bullet and the Gulf of Tonkin, Americans repeatedly demonstrate they will believe any sort of baseless and easily debunked nonsense that comes down the pike. However, it takes a “self-loathing” Russian such as General Leonid Ivashov, vice-president of the Academy on Geopolitical Affairs, to spell it out in stark black and white detail, going way over the heads of Jim Brogan, Jim Roberts, and the patently silly Gossip Girls, all who know absolutely nothing about what they are talking about and should instead concentrate on the desolate parade of celebrities making their way to rehab. “Only secret services and their current chiefs—or those retired but still having influence inside the state organizations—have the ability to plan, organize and conduct an operation of such magnitude. Generally, secret services create, finance and control extremist organizations. Without the support of secret services, these organizations cannot exist—let alone carry out operations of such magnitude inside countries so well protected. Planning and carrying out an operation on this scale is extremely complex,” more complex than anything possibly dreamed up by a former CIA asset with kidney disease in an Afghan cave. “Osama bin Laden and ‘Al Qaeda’ cannot be the organizers nor the performers of the September 11 attacks. They do not have the necessary organization, resources or leaders. Thus, a team of professionals had to be created and the Arab kamikazes are just extras to mask the operation.”
