Churches help the needy to help themselves by recognizing that, first, nothing is free. I remember that story from some god forsaken country (but isn't Every country on the Planet of the Demons from Dumbass god forsaken;) in Africa. The Church was there of course, and decided that charging 25 cents for a bundle of firewood sticks was equitable....;}
