Rand Paul will join Real News tonight on TheBlaze TV to discuss his response to the State of the Union. Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) appeared on Glenn Beck’s radio show this morning to discuss a variety of topics. After commenting about the need to combat President Barack Obama’s use of executive power, the politician dove into the spiritual realm. Noting that he believes America’s problems run deeper than political schisms, Paul called for a spiritual awakening and revival. Sen. Credit: AP The senator made his comments about the need for faith leaders to rise up and called for increased religious fervor after Beck asked him about his own spiritual well-being. Paul said that when he was first running for office he appreciated people telling him that they were praying for him, but that he didn’t take these pledges seriously enough. Now, he sees inherent value in these prayers and well-wishes — and he believes the nation should adopt similar sentiments. “I think that our country needs a spiritual cleansing,” Paul told Beck. “I really think we need a revival in this country — and I do need your prayers and I do need the strength to go on with this, because this isn’t always easy.” He went on to call for religious leaders to come forward and to help deal with the issues at hand and said that something is needed (i.e. God) that is “bigger than any politician.” “I think our country’s problems are deeper than political — that we need spiritual leaders to come forward. We need something beyond just the politics of the day and, you know, I see it everywhere — something really depraved is rising in the country,” he continued. Listen to Paul’s comments, below:

We're so far passed this: When the State admits that it can't/won't prosecute blatant theft...... Pampered fu,cking Pricks This society is overrun by pampered, entitled fu,cking pricks. So much so, that we have all just gotten used to dealing with them. Every day we come into contact with these over demanding assholes, yet we just put up with it, because apparently societal order would collapse if we didn't have an entrenched hierarchy, no matter how phony or superficial. This is one of the most egregious aspects of any Ponzi Scheme - the fact that it pushes the worst people to the very top, facilitated by their sociopathic ability to control, manipulate and otherwise do whatever it takes to f**k everyone else over on their way up the ladder... Granted, this argument is not based on scientific observation with a double-blind study on a multi-year duration. However, you can't swing a cat in any direction without hitting one of these buffoon assholes in a position of power. These people can barely stand to look the rest of us in the eye, because part of their schtick is to pretend that they are too important to commune with the common man. The Real Survival Guide Therefore, one thing we all have to look forward to is a leveling of the playing field. A situation in which the neighbourhood where one was born or what school daddy sent them to or how much money they have in a trust fund is going to mean sweet fu,ck all. In fact it's going to mean less than that, because these people have absolutely zero real world survival skills. They don't even know how to treat another human being with respect, unless it's someone they deem to be superior. They don't realize that to get things done in the everyday real world, you have to treat everyone with respect - the great and the small. Survival in an age of austerity will not be dependent upon how many guns we have or whether we live in a reinforced bunker, it will be predicated upon treating other people with respect and otherwise being an equal functioning member of a tight knit community. As Kunstler wrote recently, those who are isolated and adrift in the vast expanses of suburban sprawl without any support structures, will be the least equipped to endure.
