There are a ton of Indian-owned contracting firms competing for technology business in the U.S. I am all for competition. I have no problem with this. Let the best company win. I get a lot of emails every week from Indian companies both looking for business with my company and also looking to contract me on one of their engagements.
I received an email today which included this line: "Snap Shot: Senior H1/GC/EAD resource with good offshore/onsite coordination experience".
H1, GC, EAD are categories of immigrant / non-U.S. citizens who are allow to work in the U.S.
One of the categories of illegal discrimination defined by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is National Origin.
There are a whole bunch of good middle age people with success in the computer industry who are unemployed right now and can't find work. I know a lot of them.
Many of us have long suspected that the Indian contracting companies operating in the U.S. discriminate in favor of people from India (and against Americans).
Now I have evidence of at least one.
Is it time to start complaining to the EEOC about foreign companies who discriminate against people who's national origin is American?
You bet your ass it is.
Here is the contact information for the company that sent me this email:
VSPC Group Inc 1205 Fox Run Dr, Plainsboro, NJ 08536 (678) 648-4203 vsp@vspcgroup.net
Everyone needs to look for these kinds of clues on Monster, Dice, and in the random emails they receive.
Don't let it go.
I am my filling out my EEOC complaint right now.
Here is how you can do it:
