Ever hear of heinous disasters involving a single-occupant canoe, kayak, or dinghy? No, you do not. Thank you for reminding me of something. Not long ago we had several nations taken over by gun control advocates,and gun bans and controls were a big part of how they came to power. People voted for,supported them financially,and some people even risked their lives to give these people control over them AND their country because these new rulers were going to make everybody safe from attack by armed criminals. Nobody ever mentioned making the people safe from armed agents of the government,and the labor camps and execution courts were created. This is just a guess because I never lived in any of these countries,but I'm guessing the subjects/serfs of Nazi Germany,the USSR,Uganda,Cuba,China,Cambodia,Laos,North Vietnam,Eastern Germany,Poland,etc,etc,etc ever really felt all that safe unless they were one of the lucky ones being chauffeured to their country estates on the weekends. Just look at how well gun-control worked out for all those millions. Then again,those people did get what they wanted when they handed control of their lives over to the government. There can be no question they got "taken care of." Maybe not in the sense they expected,but as a wise man once observed,"The devil is always in the details".
