If you read the summary of Sen. Diane Feinstein’s proposed assault weapons ban (read it here on her Senate page [1]) it’s very clear that — despite having no idea what an assault weapon actually is, or how it differs from a semi-automatic hunting rifle (hint: it doesn’t) — Feinstein’s ultimate motive is no different than it was back in 1995 [2] when she was for the complete ban and confiscation of ALL weapons from American citizens:

Dianne Feinstein: “If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States, for an outright ban, picking up [every gun]… Mr. and Mrs. America, turn ‘em all in.”

I was discussing Feinstein’s newest assault on our second amendment rights last night with some neighbors — men who have spent more hours hunting and shooting guns than most people spend watching television. Then I brought up this 1995 video. Our conversation naturally turned to “what if…” scenarios and how they would unfold.

As in, “What if…the government banned all semi-automatic weapons and ordered them be turned in or confiscated from US citizens who would not do so voluntarily?”

We all quickly agreed a violent revolution and rebellion would occur almost immediately. Most, if not all, members of Congress who voted for the ban/confiscation would be assassinated. In fact, what Bob Owens describes in this post “What You’ll See At the Revolution” [3] is exactly what we described would happen.

Tens of millions of Americans will refuse to comply with an order that is clearly a violation of the explicit intent of the Second Amendment. Among the most ardent opposing these measures will be military veterans, active duty servicemen, and local law enforcement officers. Many of these individuals will refuse to carry out what they view as Constitutionally illegal orders. Perhaps 40-50 million citizens will view such a law as treason. Perhaps ten percent of those, 4-5 million, would support a rebellion in some way, and maybe 40,000-100,000 Americans will form small independently-functioning active resistance cells, or become lone-wolves.

They will be leaderless, stateless, difficult to track, and considering the number of military veterans that would likely be among their number, extremely skilled at sabotage, assassination, and ambush.

After a number of carefully-planned, highly-publicized, and successful raids by the government, one or more will invariably end “badly.” Whether innocents are gunned down, a city block is burned to ash, or especially fierce resistance leads to a disastrously failed raid doesn’t particularly matter. What matters is that when illusion of the government’s invincibility and infallibility is broken, the hunters will become the hunted.

Which very closely follows the thoughts described in this oft-linked and -discussed post: “What I Saw At The Coup” [4].

And the very first prey that would find themselves in the scopes of the rebels would be the members of Congress who passed this ban and the members of the media who have been their willing mouthpieces and agents of propaganda.

You bed-wetting, pantie-wearing effeminate femboy Liberals might think this is a lot of swagger and bravado, and that no way would citizens be able to rise up and violently over-throw a tyrannical government — that’s because you don’t understand or know men that grew up hunting; inherited the rifles and handguns that were handed down from their grandfathers to their fathers and who are teaching their own sons how to hunt and shoot; men who spent a part of their life in uniform, learning military tactics while promising to defend the Constitution from enemies both foreign and domestic.

But I have zero doubt that the scenarios described by both Bob Owens and Matt Bracken would unfold eerily close to as described. And I can promise you that I would not obey any order that required me to register, insure, or turn in my guns. And I would join my neighbors and community in any uprising to defy this usurpation, as instructed by our own Declaration of Independence:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

The oath I took as a Soldier to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic…did not end when I left the military.

But, go ahead, Ms. Feinstein, just go ahead and try to confiscate the guns of tens of millions of law-abiding, freedom-loving citizens. I just hope you’ve seriously considered the consequences. (1 image)

I'm not suggesting anything,but if I were writing a work of fiction I would suggest "lone wolves" are the way to go. There is no such thing as a secret that is known of by 2 people,and every group of people in this country that have ever joined anything including this web site are monitored to a greater or lesser extent.

The lone wolf thing really works when other lone wolves recognize another lone wolf has been at work,and "No officer,I didn't really see anything but to best of my memory the guy you are looking for is tall and black" if he was short and white,or "short and white" if he was tall and black. Or even a male if it was a female or a female if it was a male.

Some people may even go so far as to help the one they are looking for to get away.

Or even join in if the opportunity presents itself.

Once this sort of thing becomes widespread enough the press CAN'T ignore it anymore and small hit and run operations start occurring and regions become so active they can come up in the sun a little bit,THEN you can start by initially organizing into small squads of actives with non-actives working as your intelligence network and supply base. If that is successful you can then become larger as the government steps in and inevitably over-reacts and starts abusing innocents to try and find out about you. This in turn will act as a recruiting tool for you.

There are two absolutes any such movement MUST keep foremost in their minds. Number one is they do NOT purposely cause harm to come to innocents,and that any member of their group is immediately punished harshly and publicly for disobeying this rule. The other is that they MUST deal harshly and immediately with traitors to their cause,no matter who that traitor may. The punishment for informers MUST be swift and ruthless.

This is nothing more than a possible plot outline for a action/adventure novel.

The first real jolt indicating a serious problem with the plan came when television reporter Cathy Carlsen was killed in Norfolk, shot dead while covering the commissioning of the Harvey Milk, the Navy’s newest destroyer. That she was killed was bad enough. That it happened on a “secure” naval base—a federal installation—made it much worse. Her blood splattered across the Admirals’ white uniforms made quite a picture. The videos…

We were two women born in the same year, with similar academic backgrounds. We had known each other for decades, and her untimely death hit me hard. Cathy Carlsen had been a reliable voice on the progressive side of a supposedly impartial television news network. That a respected member of the media would be assassinated was big surprise, at least to me. Up to that point, only a few federal officials and high-ranking agents had been targeted.

Then a new photo was released on the internet. I had always thought the NSA could trace those things back to their origins, but apparently not. The photo was taken through the Norfolk sniper’s rifle scope just a few moments before the murder. It showed thin black crosshairs and other reference marks across Cathy’s smiling face. And it showed some text added just above her head:

If the media lies, the media dies. You take a side, you’re along for the ride. A traitor in front of a camera is still just a traitor.

This single act of domestic terrorism immediately dampened the enthusiasm of most of our formerly reliable reporters to continue to carry our water. More such photographs of other media figures appeared on the internet with crosshairs over their faces. Most of the pictures were bogus, just photoshop pranks, but they had a similar effect: our dependably cooperative reporters suddenly lost their nerve. The comments following the photos on the remaining right-wing web forums were perhaps the most frightening aspect. It was obvious that plenty of Americans were willing to voice their support for the assassinations of their enemies in both the media and the government. It became a game for them to walk up to the “fomenting domestic terrorism” line with carefully parsed words, and this glutted our SNA fusion centers with background noise.

[S]ocial network analysis couldn’t find snipers who were not part of any network. That’s when we began to hear of “The Militia of One.” In the end there were too many rifles, and too many willing shooters. A number that was constantly heard was twenty million. That was the number of Americans who supposedly went deer hunting every year, against less than 200,000 armed federal agents.

Local police evaporated from the equation once the going got tough. The most common sentiment heard expressed was, “You feds made your bed, so now sleep on it.” The National Guard, those units not already deployed overseas, proved hopelessly slow and cumbersome. That is, the few who reported for duty when called up.

While top federal officials hid inside buildings, a new and unanticipated escalation of the sniper war emerged. When no one of high rank was available to shoot, their outermost rings of security were targeted, even down to lowly GS- 5s standing perimeter duty. Suddenly, competent and trustworthy guards were very hard to find.

On the remaining internet the threats multiplied as pictures and videos were shared and commented upon by millions. “Remember your oath” was a common theme. That whole tired shtick about “defending the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic,” with a heavy emphasis on domestic. All of that reactionary claptrap. Who knew that so many of them took that oath so damned seriously? Who knew? Mere words on paper, and yet, so many Americans were willing to kill and to die for them. Who knew?

The snipers grew ever more brazen and their numbers multiplied daily. They were emboldened by accounts of the murders of federal officials that were splashed across what was left of the internet, no matter how we tried to control and contain it. They freely posted comments such as, “You can take away our rights, but we still get to vote under Rule 308,” (which I have since learned refers to a popular rifle caliber). The shooters understood the critical manpower equation as well as we did. We were out-gunned a hundred to one by snipers we could neither see nor find, and they knew it.
