December 23rd 2012 a New York Newspaper Printed the names and addresses of every Licensed Pistol Permit holder in two Counties and another County is being posted shortly! This is a massive privacy breach and the latest in a series of over the top emotional reactions to the latest shooting tragedy in Sandy Hook CT meant to intimidate the lawful and prey on peoples fears to exploit the gun grabbing agenda.
In an article title “The gun owner next door: What you don’t know about the weapons in your neighborhood” the paper linked to an interactive map titled: “Map: Where are the gun permits in your neighborhood?” where you can search neighborhoods to see who received a legal permit to own a hand gun license listed by name and address.
Some Immediate Reaction to this invasion of privacy:
“The gun -owner has an added responsibility to take all measures that their firearms do not fall into the hands of such miscreants. Beside the natural precautions, they cannot permit themselves to fall hostage in trade for access to their firearms locks.”
” If the homeowner is killed or injured, will LOHUD be charged as an accomplice to the crime?”
“It is as if they put out an ad to jewel thieves listing the names and addresses of where to find diamonds and cash.”
“This is CRAZY!! why in the world would you post every licensed gun owner information?? What do you hope to accomplish by doing this? This is the type of thing you do for sex offenders not law abiding gun owners. What next? should I hang a flag outside my house that says I own a gun?”
“Now everyone knows where the LEGAL GUNS are kept, a valuable piece of information for criminals. Why don’t you do something helpful, like trying to find out where the ILLEGAL GUNS are kept? That would be helpful to the non-criminal population”

So the government violates your 5th amendment rights requiring you to give them your personal information. Then the newspapers publish it. Does anyone see something wrong with this?

Given that this is NY,the mecca of gun control,I am overjoyed they are doing this,but ONLY if they publish the names and addresses of the wealthy,the politically-connected,and the politicians themselves. And I REALLY don't want them to stop with just the idiots who bought a permit to be ALLOWED to enjoy what WAS their RIGHT. I really,REALLY want them to publish the names and addresses of the people some judge gave a "Special Deputy" badge to so they can legally carry concealed anywhere they go,including bars,churches,schools,and the court house building. These Special Deputy badges gives them the same rights as full-time policemen,and they can't be arrested for carrying a concealed weapon no matter where they go. This is the traditional dodge the legal system and the wealthy have used to exempt themselves from the laws they insisted get passed. While we are at it,why not publish the names and addresses of all the cops,court employees,and any others that get a permit to carry concealed anywhere at any time? While we are on the subject,how about publishing the names and addresses of people who don't even live in NYC or state that have NYC CCW permits? People like Diane Fienstein,Harry Connick Jr,BaBa WaWa,Sarah Brady,and other prominent lefists? This list has to contain the names and addresses of the Hollywood left that sometimes visit NYC,too. People like Stephen Speilberg,and actors like Robert De Niro who now lives in NYC. AND their bodyguards and all the retired NYC cops that have CCW's so they can get jobs as doormen at the "gated community" condos where all the gun grabbers live who claim nobody needs a gun to protect themselves? HEY! If it's good enough and safe enough for the citizens,why isn't it good enough and safe enough for the people who promote it? How much luck is a politician going to have campaigning on "take the guns away!" when it's publicly known that HE has one himself AND a permit no one else but the wealthy and connected can get? If you want this sort on nonsense to stop,you have to make them suffer from it just like the rest of us.

I see nothing wrong as I've been told that just the slightest hint that a person is carrying a gun will deter criminals.

Stone I see this as a backfire situation. The people who should be very angry are the people who do not own guns. Now the criminals in all the counties posted have a list of homes not to rob. They will avoid the gun owners.
