Why don't you face it, someone who loves money, power and authority like you do would have sided with the British. Like most corporations of the day did. You would be a perfect fit.

America has had a major terminology problem for 100 years. "Socialism", "Fascism", and "Communism" were never acceptable terms in America. So, people who had these beliefs had to use other terms to promote their ideas. The term "liberal" originally meant someone who believes in limited government, the free market, and individual rights. It still means this in many countries. I am a liberal in the original meaning of the term. I am proud to wear that label. The people who call themselves "liberal" today are NOT liberal. The are illiberal because they believe in unlimited government, government controlled markets, and group privileges. The people who call themselves "progressive" today are NOT progressive. They are REGRESSIVE because they fundamentally believe in government power and control over free people who would rather operate in voluntary markets.
