Corrupt Government Title: General Petraeus To Testify Before Congress On Benghazi Massacre The embattled former general and CIA Director is now indicated a willingness to testify to Congress on the ongoing Benghazi Massacre scandal. This agreement interestingly came shortly after powerful Democratic Senator Diane Feinstein indicated Petraeus participation should be required. (Ulsterman Report readers are well aware of the significant backstory between Senator Dianne Feinstein and President Barack Obama) Petraeus agrees to testify on Libya before congressional committees (via Fox News) Former CIA Director David Petraeus has agreed to testify about the Libya terror attack before the House and Senate intelligence committees, Fox News has learned. You Asked Republican Insider Responds »Petraeus had originally been scheduled to testify this Thursday on the burgeoning controversy over the deadly Sept. 11 attack. That appearance was scuttled, though, after the director abruptly resigned over an extramarital affair. The logistics of Petraeus appearance are still being worked out. But a source close to Petraeus said the former four-star general has contacted the CIA, as well as committees in both the House and Senate, to offer his testimony as the former CIA director. Fox News has learned he is expected to speak off-site to the Senate Intelligence Committee on Friday about his Libya report. The House side is still being worked out.
While Petraeus prepares to give his side, lawmakers have begun to openly question when Petraeus first knew about the investigation that uncovered his affair and whether it impacted his statements to Congress on Sept. 14 about the Libya terror attack. It is interesting to note that Petraeus is for now, only agreeing to meet with the Democratic-controlled Senate with a seeming promise to schedule a similar closed door hearing with the Republican-controlled House at some later date. Hopefully both houses of Congress will be allowed to hear, digest, and ultimately react to whatever information General Petraeus can provide them regarding the Benghazi scandal. Second, but certainly most likely related to this developing scandal, is the quiet announcement by the administration that Eric Holder is to remain on as Barack Obamas Attorney General. Just last week there were suggestions coming from Eric Holders office that he was preparing to step down. It would appear those closest to Barack Obama (Valerie Jarrett) thought it best for the presidents long standing and quite effective firewall to remain firmly in place as the Benghazi scandal unfolds a scandal that a growing number of detractors are indicating directly links to Eric Holder himself. Reports suggest Attorney General Holder knew of the investigation of General Petraeus by the FBI long before the White House is indicated President Obama knew. Such a scenario, given the importance of Petraues position as CIA Director, seems highly unlikely. Lastly, as the Petraeus scandal has so quickly unfolded, and more and more in Congress are demanding answers and suggesting a massive cover-up being coordinated by Obama administration operatives, I was reminded by the very last communication received by Military Insider: Voters failed to do right thing. Up to us now. We intend to try another option. Watergate him. Not waterboard him. Watergate him. Dont contact me again. -MI I am particularly struck by the timing of MIs last communication November 7th. The Petraeus scandal did not become public until November 9th. Coincidence? Not likely
