Smart Founding Fathers had it set up so that only PROPERTY OWNING CITIZENS could vote to prevent the poor and destitute from voting them off their property and taking it for themselves. Even women property owners could not vote.
The whole thing was undermined first by allowing slaves to vote, and then to allow women to vote.
They understood that women vote always for security, never for risk. Never for liberty. They were not trying to keep women DOWN, but to prevent liberal ideas, from entering the Political arena.
If you trace back to the first votes by women, you'll see that that's exactly when the left turn started, and the voting laws have gotten more and more lax over the years. Now there are few if any requirements....even illegal aliens are voting...for more benefits...just like the FFathers warned us would happen !!

Goldie is definitely WRONG on this one. The first "Progressives" (the term in the late 19th century and early 20th century for what are usually called "liberals" today) were Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson both elected BEFORE WOMEN GOT THE VOTE.
