Ron Paul will be a certified write-in candidate for president in California. Official write-in status means Ron Paul's write-in votes will be counted just as if he were on the ballot in that state. Paul supporters have met the requirements put forth by the California Secretary of State.
The write-in ticket also includes Judge Andrew Napolitano for vice president.
Paul supporters argue that the winner of Tuesday's presidential election is certain to be one of two candidates who both support the indefinite military detention of US citizens (NDAA,) sanctions and possible strikes on Iran, the continuing bail-outs of major banks which could wind up costing US taxpayers as much as $23 trillion, and the continued accumulation of massive US debt. Paul forces criticize both major parties for their lack of any meaningful efforts to reign in US adventurism abroad, and Pentagon spending.
Therefore, Paul supporters say, the strongest message can be sent by a strong write-in vote for Ron Paul, who has steadfastly opposed all of these. Paul has said:
"Even if we were to slash our military budget in half, America easily would remain the worlds dominant military power."
Senator Carl Levin (D-MI) Revealing That Obama Pushed for NDAA
Any impact on California's 55 electoral votes, the the highest number of all the states, is sure to draw attention. The vote is meant to indicate that voters do not unanimously accept the choice of the two major party candidates. Many Paul supporters also have kind words for Green Party candidate Jill Stein, who, although she represents very different politics, has earned the respect of many Paul supporters as a result of her strong commitment to opening the debates, and her consistent anti-war, pro-Constitution positions. Stein, a medical doctor, was recently arrested at Hofstrau University in her attempt to be included in the debates, and held handcuffed to a chair for eight hours by police.
The Ron Paul write-in campaign is also placing a strong focus on the states of Iowa, New Hampshire, Maine, and Wisconsin as other states where write-in votes are counted and reported out by elections officials. Supporters contend that the primary season was rife with corruption in these states and others, and that the extent of Paul's true support was hidden and suppressed. Jared Glenn in LewRockwell.com writes in "How the GOP Establishment Stole the Nomination From Ron Paul":
Days before the [Iowa] caucuses, Paul held a commanding lead in the polls and all the momentum, with every other candidate having peaked from favorable media coverage and then collapsed under the ensuing scrutiny....For the first time ever, the Iowa GOP changed the final vote count to a secret location . After the caucus, results from 8 precincts (including those with colleges, in a state where Paul won 48% of the youth vote) went missing.
During the GOP national convention a host of "dirty tricks" were employed against Paul and his delegates to keep him from being nominated, such as changing the number of states required for Paul to have won from five to eight, in order to qualify for nomination. The Las Vegas Sun and the New York Times reported that Paul had won six states in order to qualify. The Sun said:
Paul supporters, lead by Nevada delegate Wayne Terhune, succeeded in putting together petitions from six states to put Pauls name up for nomination. But earlier this week, the Romney campaign won a critical rules change requiring eight states to put a candidate up for nomination. At the last moment, Paul supporters handed the petitions to the convention secretary. Then, the convention voted to adopt the eight-state rule, crushing the Paul effort.
And in some states during the primary season, Romney supporters and their hired security resorted to physical violence in order to keep Paul delegates from assuming newly-elected posts.

I love Ron Paul. I was a Ron Paul supporter in the early 1980s before most of you have ever heard of him. In 1988, I introduced him at a fundraiser in Auburn Hills, MI after he spoke at the Detroit Economic club in his Presidential campaign in 1988.
But, what you are posting is LOONY TUNES.
The hateful, resentful, black, academic, anti-American leftist HAS TO GO to SAVE the country.
At this point, Romney is only one who can make him go.
Standing on principal is wonderful. Being an idiot is not.
Read my election forecast. Romney will tomorrow and probably by a great deal.
jwpegler: Standing on principal is wonderful. Being an idiot is not. T-Bird: Worth repeating bump.
Indeed.
Voting for "the lesser of two evils" is giving tacit approval to evil. I will not give my consent to that.
The sheeple will bleat at those who question their orthodoxy. They cannot stand to be reminded that they have no integrity, and no character. They're cowards, who safely hide in the rest of the herd, indistinguishable from the other sheep.
To be, or not to be: that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep; No more; and by a sleep to say we end The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep; To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub; For in that sleep of death what dreams may come When we have shuffled off this mortal coil, Must give us pause: there's the respect That makes calamity of so long life; For who would bear the whips and scorns of time, The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely, The pangs of despised love, the law's delay, The insolence of office and the spurns That patient merit of the unworthy takes, When he himself might his quietus make With a bare bodkin? who would fardels bear, To grunt and sweat under a weary life, But that the dread of something after death, The undiscover'd country from whose bourn No traveller returns, puzzles the will And makes us rather bear those ills we have Than fly to others that we know not of? Thus conscience does make cowards of us all; And thus the native hue of resolution Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought, And enterprises of great pith and moment With this regard their currents turn awry, And lose the name of action.
He's a narcissist, a crook and a liar. He's also a thief, just one of the 1% Wall Street criminals who have (literally) "made out like bandits" off the bail-outs and utter corruption that our government now is.
He's part of the problem... And you kiss his ass.
Obama is an anti-American, anti-capitalist, black liberationist, Marxist- influenced, scum.
Which means he's as crooked as mcRomneystain. Ain't that a surprise.
The fact that you can't distinguish between the two tells me that you are either not to bright or mentally ill.
The fact that you think either one gives a shit about you or this country, tells me you're merely another mindless member of the herd. You fools have been choosing the "lesser of two evils" for the last 30 years... and what has that accomplished, praytell? How's that strategy working for you, FOOL?
Now SHUT UP, bend down, and pucker up... because you're their slave, and you'll reap EVERYTHING you so dearly deserve...
I shit on you, and all your ilk... I shit on you cowards, who will cling to normalcy-bias, until reality tears your empty little lives apart, and leaves you nothing but misery and pain. I take great comfort in knowing that you'll get everything you desrve, you pathetic little shit.
You fools have been choosing the "lesser of two evils" for the last 30 years... and what has that accomplished, praytell? How's that strategy working for you, FOOL?
