I recently invited two posters to come here and debate with me if there is a God. Respond to this and I will try to give you better answers.
I wasn't arguing the existence of god, I have already said it is impossible to dissprove it, but that that is not a proof that it exists. Arguing the existence of god would be an exercise in futility either way. Personally I think arbitrary religious dogma is socially deconstructive which is why I hate many aspects of christianity and the other monotheistic religions. Creationism is an example of this.
The reason I shrug it off so to speak, is because it goes against what, in my opinion, humans should model their behavior by. No one should intrinsicly accept things, they should question what is out there. Creationism directly antagonises this view. Also, I think it is perfectly reasonable to criticize aspects of religion we don't like in the same way it is perfectly reasonable to criticize aspects of society we don't like, i.e. racism, homophobia....
Ok I understand your view on this subjets, but here's mine, I am an open Christian. I have my own doubts about the fact that everything in the Bible is true. I beleive in the core of the Bible if that makes any sense. I am open minded but in my opinion human beings always want a rationalization on something we simply can not fathom. I am open minded though and always willing to listen to the other side.
And creationism is that rationalization for people who do not truly understand evolution.
I can physically understand evolution, trust me I have read many books on the subject. I take astronomy,I cant physically explain to you why Creatonilism is true. I can however tell you that I feel evolution is true to a point . I just believe there had to be a higher power(God) to create the master plan of it all. I don't believe some random molecules collided and created the universe. There is so much we can't explain, there has to be a grand plan in my opinion.
I do, but I believe for people who don't want their kids to learn there should be an other choice. I just don't believe religion should be taken out of schools, im fair I think everyone who wants to have their kid learn religion in scholl should have that choice. Private schools are expensive, not every parent can afford them.
