Ok lets have a discussion. What is it that you don't like about us conservatives?

Why is it bad for taxes to be low for the people? Doesn't that give us more freedom?

Your side is for abortion being legal. Can't you understand why our side finds the act reprehensible? Are you not capable of that? Are we bad because we are against killing babies in the womb? Why is that bad?

We think people should able to own firearms. Not because we want to commit crimes or hurt people. But because we recognize that a free people must always be on guard against tyranny. You see we love our families and we want them to succeed for generations to come. So one of the things that is important is for our people to be able to own weapons in case some day the government tries to do something really bad. Some people would say we are already there or close.

Your side gets upset when someone with money speaks. Shouldn't we all be able to speak and say what we want to? You and your side say but it is a corporation. No it is a person and they have a right to speak.

Then there is the welfare state. You can't see that it is destroying us in many many ways. First off it makes people lazy. They won't work because they don't want to lose their food stamps or their welfare. Real middle income people have to pay taxes to support those people. You think that is right? Shouldn't compassion come from the heart and not the threat from government? We spend over a trillion dollars on welfare now? How can that be good? That is a trillion stolen dollars from the people who worked for it. Aren't we entitled to the fruits of our labor?

Creation. How can anyone not see that the world was created? It is self evident.

The list goes on and on.

What do you think?

Ok lets have a discussion. What is it that you don't like about us conservatives?

Don't know whether LoonyMing has any meaningful thought processes about such questions, but I'll take a stab at some of your underlying assumptions.

For example, you describe yourself as a "conservative." The system you adhere to now, isn't conservative, but more accurately described as corporatist. The "Bud-lite" version of fascism, in other words. You in no way stand for individual rights, for freedom of expression, or (most importantly) the right to be left alone. You love the war-machine, and you show your fealty to the police-state.

You will debate minor details all day, to differentiate o'Bungler from mcRomneystain... but the truth is, they're both corrupt, both liars, both bought-and-paid-for by the same banksters. And you perpetuate the idea that one is somehow better than the other... when there is NO DIFFERENCE.

Why is it bad for taxes to be low for the people? Doesn't that give us more freedom?

False choice. You're very big on false choices, aren't you?

Let's reframe the question in proper context... A more appropriate question would be, "Why must we tolerate the government stealing our money by threat of force?"

How exactly, are they any different than the mafia, demanding "protection money?" Oh, and don't give me any bullshit about the 16th Amendment (never actually ratified by the states), or the Federal Reserve Act, which was never legally passed. Sheep and fools believe the con that these two despicable pieces of legislation represent.

Your side is for abortion being legal. Can't you understand why our side finds the act reprehensible? Are you not capable of that? Are we bad because we are against killing babies in the womb? Why is that bad?

I find your sudden interest in discussing (in a reasonable manner) such a subject to be both amusing and disengenuous... Amusing because you're not really interested in understanding, merely in convincing others of the righteousness of your views. Yet, many times, you've made comments stating that you want someone (who believes in the right to have an abortion) should be killed, merely for having that belief.

Do you not recognize the reprehensible nature of your own hypocrisy? Because it is as clear as can be, from my viewpoint.

We think people should able to own firearms...

Your points on this subject, I agree with.

Then there is the welfare state.

...made possible by the illegal Federal Reserve act, and The Law That Never Was. And the welfare state is the natural result of such frauds.

Without the means for the government to tax and "redistribute" (rob Peter to pay Paul, after taking a "cut" of the booty), the welfare state is simply not possible. When the current government can no longer function in this mode (which will happen during the on-going financial collapse), the welfare state will be finished, as it already is in Greece.

Watch money. Money is the barometer of a society's virtue. When you see that trading is done- not by consent, but by compulsion- when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing- when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors- when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don't protect you against them, but protect them against you- when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self- sacrifice- you may know that your society is doomed...

When you have made evil the means of survival, do not expect men to remain good. Do not expect them to stay moral and loser their lives for the purpose of becoming the fodder of the immoral. Do not expect them to produce, when production is punished and looting rewarded. Do not ask "who is destroying the world?" You are. -Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged

....

Creation. How can anyone not see that the world was created? It is self evident.

You claim to have unique knowledge and understanding of how the world was created? By having blind faith in the bible, same as Muslims who blindly believe in the Koran, et al...?

You have no unique knowledge, only faith. And while that appears to be sufficient for you, it is not sufficient for me. You see, for me to be convinced, I need information that is

a. Observable,
b. Repeatable, and
c. Measurable.

If you wish to discuss matters of how something was made, or some aspect of physics or engineering, than you need to have observable, measurable and repeatable data.

If you don't have that, you have nothing but merely opinion, which no more (or less) weight than the opinion of LoonyMing, calcon, Mad Dog or any other poster on this forum.

What do you think?

What makes you think you think?

Ok lets have a discussion. What is it that you don't like about us conservatives?

Bestriding the world in a way that no other nation can, America has become more invasive, predatory, and repressive than at any time in its history.

800 U.S. military bases garrison the globe. A highly militarised state, backed by major corporations and a wealthy elite, exploits the public fear of foreigners, subversives and minorities to create a high-tech version of medieval demonology, in which an unseen enemy is poised to exploit any lack of vigilance.

There is only one response to the lurking Powers of Darkness: love of Jesus and awesome weaponry.

Maybe I happen to have a life? Let's see yesterday..... I picked most of the stuff that was left in the garden,(the 'garden' is three acres) brought in a haystack from a pasture we cut this summer, so it wouldn't get wet, went to visit a sick friend in the hospital. Then went to that sick friend's house and made sure everything was inside or safe from the more than inch of rain we got last night.

I'm tired and have already learned it's pointless and a time waster to 'discuss' anything with you, as you do not know the meaning of the word. You had a good site here at one time..... then you got what you wished for.

Very well laid out.

On the welfare state. We get professed Christians who cling to the welfare state because they see it as charity. What do I say? Paul went to Greece to gather the donations of willing believers to care for Christians in need. He did not go to Caesar to petition higher taxes so Rome (not Christian) could redistribute. Seems Paul knew the score...Charity comes from willing believers, not taxes. Paul also told us to work with our hands and eat our own bread, take care of widows and orphans. Those that clearly cannot take care of themselves.

During periods of recession, the velocity of money falls as people and companies start saving and conserving. The FRED chart below also shows that the velocity of money in the U.S. has been consistently declining since before the IT bubble burst in January 2000—i.e., all the liquidity pumped into the system by the Fed from Y2K scare onward has basically been chasing its tail, leaving banks and corporates with more and more excess, unused cash that was not being re-cycled into the real economy.

The amount allotted too Israel and where the money is used has been posted here, and other forums many times, it is not used for 'welfare', are you too stupid to look up where the money goes, or just lazy?

Tell everyone here just what it is you don't understand, or don't agree with about 'redleghunter's' post, or did it just go over your head like everything else? Charity is something the (federal) government should not be mixed in with, they have no right to take from anyone by force (taxes) and give to others, not knowing if those they take from are suffering just as much. It is our individual states and the people themselves, who should take care of their own needs, hunger, housing, medical, widows and orphans, and so on.

Oh! And I'm sure you can post some sort of documented proof where Paul has ever proclamed himself, Jesus....

I would have posted this in crayola crayon, but you still wouldn't have a clue, that would actually take thinking on your part instead of the undocumented BS you post.

The whole country of Israel is a welfare state, Pendejo.

Without our blood and treasure it would have been relegated to being just an historical footnote, where it rightly belongs.

And since you so fervently rationalize and support a theocracy one has to assume you want that for the US too. You appear to be just another example of the Christian Taliban that has taken over the GOP.

Unlike last year we have had lots of late orders from restaurants for tomatoes, which we had been able to fill until the storm that just hit. Most of the other farms in the area pulled theirs up in late September, leaving us as the only supplier.

We try to grow mostly shade trees with leaves that the animals can eat such as elm and mulberry, so we don't have that much raking and composting to do in the fall. But we do have lots of black and live oaks that have grown up along the fencelines. The cows do like the acorns.

Almost every country in the Middle East is awash in oil, and we have to side with the one that has nothing but joos. Goddamn, that was good thinkin'. Esso posted on 2012-01-13 7:37:56 ET

You or your family are or were wetbacks.

No wonder why you fall for the 'lesser of two evils' argument...

Your thought-processes are a JOKE.

Our elm trees were wiped-out a couple decades ago from the dutch elm disease.

Our ash trees have been decimated by the emerald ash borer within just the last 5 years. I've got one section of property that looks like hell with all the standing dead ash.

Oh well, the balance of nature.

It is not easy reconstructing 'molded minds'...

"Maybe you need to walk down any major street in Salt Lake City wearing your Christian cross."

Tell us, oh wise one, what would happen if we walked down a street of 'Salt Lake City' wearing a cross? I have family who live there, Christian family who wear crosses, maybe we should warn them, after 5 decades, they should get the hell out of there! How many non Mormon's have been assaulted, maimed, and murdered because they were wearing a cross?

Do you even know a damn thing about why Mormon's do not wear a cross, beyond the blind, superstitious ignorant unfounded hate you harbor, and spread like a maglignant desease?

Mormon's don't wear crosses, but they do not stand in the way of you wearing one, if that's what you want. If you have anything (documented proof) besides this sleazy, slanderous innuendo you've posted, then provide it, post the horrible crimes this supposed tribe has committed, or show yourself for the LIAR you are!

No one is attempting to stop you from wearing a cross, least of all a Mormom, it is you who is the instigator of violence, and an oppressionist, hating a people because they don't conform to your concept of what is right, or wrong, accepted, or not accepted, in their church.

**************************************************

Why don’t Mormons wear crosses?

Gordon B. Hinckley, a previous prophet of the Mormon church, was asked by a minister why there were no crosses on or in the Mesa, Arizona Mormon temple. He answered, “I do not wish to give offense to any of my Christian colleagues who use the cross on the steeples of their cathedrals and at the altars of their chapels, who wear it on their vestments, and imprint it on their books and other literature. But for us, the cross is the symbol of the dying Christ, while our message is a declaration of the Living Christ.” (Gordon B. Hinckley, “The Symbol of Our Faith,” Ensign, Apr 2005, 2-6)

The Savior’s death on the cross was caused by the acts of men. Jesus Christ allowed them to do this, because a voluntary laying down of life was one of the requirements for an atoning sacrifice. The Mormons honor the Savior for that, and understand the extraordinary pain, suffering, and abuse He willingly endured for us. The Mormons do have pictures of Jesus on the cross, which are used in teaching lessons, but they do not wear the cross as a decoration or jewelry. It was, after all, a terribly painful moment for Jesus Christ.

Mormons also keep in mind the suffering of the Garden of Gethsemane. It was there that Jesus Christ actually took on Himself, voluntarily, the sins of the world, and suffered an agony we cannot even imagine. Selecting only the cross ignores the intense power of what happened in the Garden, and the sacrifice involved. The Savior, who had no sins of His own, and who could, therefore, have died without ever suffering the effects of sin, chose to take on not just a few, but every sin that had and would occur.

Mormons honor and revere those critical moments in our eternal lives, but we prefer to focus our attention on the living Christ. Jesus Christ rose from the dead and lives even today, acting as our mediator, and loving us. So often, people focus so much attention on the death of the Savior, they seem to forget He once lives and He lives again. The resurrected Christ is proof that He really is our Savior.

Marvin J. Ashton, a high-ranking Mormon leader, suggested part of our answer to this question is in the Bible, in the words of the Savior, Himself:

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. (Matthew 16:24-25.) Jesus suggested that the true measure of a Christian isn’t his jewelry, but his actions. He asked us to take up our cross and carry it, not wear it.

With this in mind, Mormons work hard to emulate the Savior’s example throughout His lifetime on earth. They seek out ways to help others who are ill, as the Savior did. They feed the hungry. They honor their families, attend their meetings, and try to represent the Savior. When they are baptized, they take on themselves the name of the Savior, and this is a powerful responsibility. They take up His cross by wearing His name well and representing Him properly.

Carrying His cross also means to teach others about him, even when they face ridicule, persecution, or even death. Most of us are not called upon to die for our faith, although some are, but all of us are called on to live for it, and that is how we carry our cross.

While Mormons have great love for the sacrifices Jesus Christ made on the cross, they try to focus the major part of their life on living worthy of those sacrifices.

A sign that the left and Obama are collapsing. Their only hope is to attack religion now.

True, and I could probably understand her logic if she targetted a religion that is going from country to country on suicide raids, beheading and torturing, burying, and burning women alive, dragging bodies in the streets, burning churches, and christian worshipers alive...and so on, but it's Christians, Mormoms and Jews these cowards would rather condemn because of some form of jewelry they wear, or don't wear...go figure!
