I have a friend who commented on one of my posts on Facebook a couple of weeks ago. One of his friends also commented on my post. I don't know her but I really liked her comment a great deal, so I added her as a friend. I thought she was someone I could talk to and learn from.
Today, I wrote a post critical of Barack Obama.
This is what she wrote me, just before she befriended me on Facebook:
"Why did you ask to be my Facebook friend? so you could say you have a black friend in Texas?!
I think you are a Jackass - please go find someone else to bother!"
I can't respond to her message, because she befriended me so Facebook won't give me a chance to respond.
I am completely distraught as result.
We were told that Barack Obama was going to usher in a post-racial age of unity.
It didn't happen.
There is something very, very wrong in America. Very, very wrong....
How do we fix it?
