On Wednesday, Kentucky senator Rand Paul issued a scathing criticism of Mitt Romneys foreign policy speech delivered earlier in the week.
In August, Paul came out in support of the Republican presidential candidate much to the dismay of his fathers supporters and others who saw him as inheriting Ron Pauls political mantle.
Romney chose to criticize President Obama for seeking to cut a bloated Defense Department and for not being bellicose enough in the Middle East, two assertions with which I cannot agree, Paul said. In North Africa and the Middle East, our problem has not been a lack of intervention. In the past 10 years we have fought two full wars there, and bombed or sent troops into several others.
Paul characterized the war with Libya last year as illegal and said the president must consult Congress prior to any military action. No president, Republican or Democrat, has the unilateral power to take our nation to war without the authority of the legislature, he said.
The son of Texas congressman Ron Paul came out against military action by the United States in Syria. I do not support a call for intervention in Syria. And, if such intervention were being contemplated, it is absolutely necessary that Congress give any such authority to the president.
We owe it to ourselves, our soldiers and our children to take a more careful look at our foreign policy, to not rush into war, and to not attempt to score political points with wrongheaded policy ideas, Paul concluded.
Romneys foreign policy team is a remix of Bushs neocons. Fifteen of the 22 members of Romneys team were policy advisers under the Bush administration and six are former members of PNAC. More than 70 percent of Romneys foreign policy advisers worked for the Bush administration.
Veterans of George W. Bushs administration pepper the team, including Cofer Black, a former CIA official and executive at the controversial private-security firm Blackwater USA. Also on the list: Eliot Cohen, who worked in the State Department under Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, and Paula Dobriansky, who served in both Democratic and Republican administrations, including as undersecretary for democracy and global affairs in the Bush years, the Wall Street Jounral wrote in July.
Romneys malleability is an advantage for his neocon advisers, giving them an opportunity to shape his worldview, as they did with Bush after 9/11, writes Ari Berman, who has covered the neocons and their agenda extensively. Four years after Bush left office in disgrace, Romney is their best shot to get back in power. If that happens, theyre likely to pursue the same aggressive policies they advocated under Bush, including taking out Syria and Iran.

It would appear that Rand Paul has finally realized that kissing the neo-CON ring garnered him no favor with the elitists... and destroyed his base, at the same time.
He's a fucking IDIOT, a spineless little shit of a traitor.
I hope he lives a very long time, so that he can remember every day, the contempt he now deserves... Betrayal is a sin that last for all time... bad enough he betrayed his supporters... but far worse, he betrayed his own father.
For this, there can be no forgiveness.

Give it a rest with the "He's the Next Messiah" worship. He's a politician and so is his dad.
Almost every country in the Middle East is awash in oil, and we have to side with the one that has nothing but joos. Goddamn, that was good thinkin'. Esso posted on 2012-01-13 7:37:56 ET
When the news comes out of some particularly despicable traitor dying, I'll have a drink in celebration. Some of those on this list include Jimmy Cahtah, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Kissinger and o'Bungler. And because you're one of those rare examples, where your death will actually improve humanity, you're on that list as well...
So please... just fucking die, already...
I need a good excuse to throw a party.

It's no longer called Blackwater USA. IIRC,it is now called xe.
As for Rand Paul throwing Massachusetts Mitt and his progressive Republicans under a bus goes, good for him!. A steam roller would be better, but a bus is better than nothing.

If they do,there should be some sort of federal law in place REQUIRING any politician that votes to go to war HAS to provide at least 1 immediate family member for front-line infantry duty. None of that crap like Biden's lawyer son hiding out forever in a large base camp and never hearing a shot fired, but right out there at the point running patrols with a rifle in their hands.
MANDATORY. If they don't have a son they aren't willing to sacrifice to make the Middle East safe, they don't get to vote.
