United States News Title: National Media Target Sheriff Joe: ABC News Launches “Arpaio Watch” to Defeat Arizona Sheriff Just disgraceful. In an unprecedented attempt by a national media entity to try and sway an election, ABC News has launched "Arpaio Watch" - in an obvious attempt to defeat Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio just 30 days before the election. Abandoning any pretense of objectivity, ABC News has even hired a longtime pro-illegal alien activist to pose as a "journalist" and run the operation, which - partnered with Univision - clearly has as its intention to sway Hispanic votes in Arizona and deny the Maricopa County Sheriff a 6th term. The website makes no attempt whatsoever to provide balance, going after Arpaio right out of the gate: In the past two decades, no law enforcement figure in America has generated more animosity and fear within immigrant communities than the 80-year-old sheriff, who is infamous for immigration sweeps in heavily Latino neighborhoods in the Phoenix area. If you're not familiar with Arpaio, here's a crash course. This list is by no means complete: Systematic profiling of Latinos...Degrading prisoners, including immigrant detainees...Bias against Mexican immigrants.... Not exactly an even-handed analysis of the popular Sheriff who has never been found guilty or lost a civil case on any of those above allegations - yet the ABC "reporter" states them as if they are fact. Ted Hesson, ABC News' so-called "journalist" leading "Arpaio Watch" cannot be considered in any way objective or fair on the issue or immigration. Before joining ABC News, Hesson was head of Long Island Wins, a group that advocates on behalf of illegal aliens in Long Island, NY and elsewhere. Hesson has written articles celebrating the defeat of E-Verify bills, promoting demonstations by supporters of illegal alien amnesty, targeting local politicians who advocate for immigration enforcement (sound familiar?) , directing readers to call U.S. Senators to vote for the Dream Act (some "journalist", eh?), and disgracefully suggesting that the shooter of former AZ Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was motivated by the immigration enforcement movement. So ABC News has hired a left-wing immigration activist to run a series of articles (with video reports sure to follow) bashing Sheriff Joe Arpaio in a tight race a month before the election. Can you say illegal campaign contribution? Can you say FCC violation? We can, and will be following up on that next week (stay tuned). Looking for an "Obama Watch", or "Eric Holder Watch"? Don't hold your breath, they aren't coming. ABC News has disgraced itself and surrendered any right to call themselves an objective news organization. Angry? Our best suggestion is to at the least fill out an ABC website feedback form, and preferably send both Anne Sweeney and Ben Sherwood emails, and leave voicemails on their direct office numbers below. Let's try and fill those boxes and let them know (respectfully) that "Arpaio Watch" is an outrageous perversion of journalistic integrity and must be stopped.
