Coral Snake's Bites of the Week 2007-3 (This weeks mixture of Corruption and Treason) This week on the bites we are dealing with a variety of subjects too large for a formal introduction to them either here are in the title. However I finally made the new Icons for the Key I was promising over Christmas and this is why the Bites came late this week. New Icons and an Icon revision in the KEY this week. During an interview with Talk magazine, he exhibited what could be characterized as sadistic tendencies. Reporters with the British Broadcasting Company, BBC, and Canadian Broadcasting Company, CBC, have on their own verified and corroborated the information uncovered by Mr. Skolnick. In an attempt to silence the story the FBI and Justice Department are using all means necessary to spy on both foreign and domestic reporters and forcibly stop the publishing and electronic transmission of any stories or pictures relating to George W. According to several documents authored by the current Tony Blair British Cabinet proposals such as implanting microchips in selected people (the mentally ill now, who knows who later) are finally being considered as "crime control" (read SHEEPLE control) proposals. One document, entitled Crime, Justice And Cohesion, says there will have to be "trade-offs" between liberty and security as technology and profiling are used to tackle crime. The policy paper also calls for the possible implementation of technology such as face and voice recognition, a DNA database, identity cards, and satellite surveillance. The article further states: Without ANY parliamentary debate or legislation, every person in this country is being targeted for inclusion on a DNA database from birth. Hundreds of thousands of children aged between 10 and 18 have had their DNA added to the database despite never being cautioned or charged for any offence. The British government has also passed legislation to make every offence arrestable. Under Section 44 of the Terrorism Act, this includes not giving your details if stopped by police. Every suspect arrested, even if proven innocent, has their DNA added to the criminal database and stored forever in perpetuity. Meanwhile EU officials are crying out for a massive pan-European network of DNA and fingerprint databases which would also be open to the Department of Homeland Security in the US. This does not bode well for anyone who values privacy given that the UK, the most advanced big brother state, is also the biggest critic of such a project. The Shrubya administration has also bought into the "Collective Right Malitia ONLY" interpretation of the second amendment probably thanks largely to this gun grabber. (As bad as he was in many other ways the Previous Attourney General John Ashcroft did recognise the genuine INDIVIDUAL RIGHT interpretation of the Second Amendment.) Gonzales was debating Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA) about whether the Supreme Court57;s ruling on Guantanamo detainees last year cited the constitutional right to habeas corpus. Here are some of the highlights: In deciding whether to allow Eli Lilly to continue to use court orders to hide documents that show the company illegally marketed Zyprexa for unapproved uses and failed to warn the public about the serious health risks associated with the drug for a decade, the court needs to consider the harm done to the public by Lilly's conduct. The public has a right to know everything about the drugging for profit scheme revealed in the documents since the majority of profits made off Zyprexa came from the public trough. The court needs to recognize the harm done to tax payers in billing public health care programs like Medicaid for the massive off-label sale of the drug. According to the October 23, 2005, San Francisco Chronicle, nationwide, Medicaid programs purchase an estimated 60 to 75% of antipsychotic drugs. Lilly has even found ways to convince doctors within the Veteran Administration's hospital system to prescribe Zyprexa rather than the older, cheaper and equally effective drugs. Dr Robert Rosenheck, a Director with the Department of Veterans Affairs, reviewed the prescribing records for schizophrenic patients in the VA system for 2003 and found that more than 80% were on the new antipsychotics. He calculated that the VA spent more than $208 million on antipsychotics that year, with over $106 million, or more than half, spent on Zyprexa. According to the New York Times, the company documents at issue show that Lilly knew full well about Zyprexa's association with diabetes and weight gain that often leads to diabetes. The public's right to know about this charge can not be easily dismissed considering the costs to the public of paying for the care of the tens of thousands of Zyprexa victims who developed diabetes. Johnson's Sierra Times Comments: Over the past year, the Bush administration's FDA has been the focus of non-stop investigations and with the Democrats in control of Congress, a long overdue overhaul of the agency is in the cards. The Government Accountability Office has identified serious problems within the FDA. In an April 21, 2006, report, the GAO found the FDA's performance "disorganized," "bureaucratic," and undermined by infighting between drug evaluation administrators whose allegiance is with the pharmaceutical industry, and the Office of Drug Safety. According to the GAO, the drug safety office is under-funded, lacks independence and lacks decision-making responsibility. It also criticized the way FDA scientists were prevented from speaking at advisory committee meetings on drugs they were studying. Investigators point to a major conflict within the Office of New Drugs because it is not only responsible for approving a drug in the first place, it is also responsible for taking regulatory action related to the safety of drugs once they are on the market. While the contest rules specified LYRICS ONLY would be accepted and not mp3 performances of song parodies Douggie (who was in the finals) received the shaved ace in the LOSER pile when an mp3 performance based song was declaired the winner EVEN THOUGH IT WAS AGAINST THE EXPLICIT RULES OF THE CONTEST to accept such a performance based song parody.
