Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan believes that reversing the repeal of the military ban on gay and lesbian soldiers would be a “step in the wrong direction.” During an interview with WPTV that aired over the weekend, Ryan was asked to weigh in on the one-year anniversary of the repeal of “don’t ask, don’t tell” (DADT). “I talked to a lot of good friends of mine who are combat leaders in the theater, and they just didn’t think the timing of this was right to do this when our troops were in the middle of harm’s way in combat,” the Wisconsin Republican told WPTV’s Alex Sanz. “Now that it’s done, we should not reverse it. I think that would be a step in the wrong direction because people have already disclosed themselves.” “I think this issue is past us,” he added. “It’s done. And I think we need to move on.” Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney wrote a letter to the Log Cain Republicans in 1994 saying that he would work toward allowing LGBT people to “serve openly and honestly in our nation’s military.” But while running for the GOP nomination in 2007, the former Massachusetts governor said he “would not change” the military’s ban if it were up to him. After DADT was repealed in December of 2011, Romney told the Des Moines Register editorial board, “That’s already occurred. I’m not planning on reversing that at this stage.” Although Ryan twice voted against the repeal of DADT, his current attitude seems to be in line Romney’s latest position.

Hey Stonie, thanks for supporting candidates that have done good work advancing the rights of Gays and Lesbians. Romney in Massachusetts, and Ryan who lays out his position in this article.
This is merely more confirmation of my initial impressions- that both wings are equally corrupt.
the two parties are corrupt, of that there is no doubt. And maybe Stone will finally get some sense knocked into that thick head of his and finally see that by supporting Romney/Ryan, he is still supporting Obama/Biden. There is definitely no real choice here. And Stone hates Obama so much, he supports a similar candidate that will preform like those that make sure the American People get no choice want them to. Our illustrious A K A Stoned entity, a veritable legend in his own mind deserves the tweak of the beak this article gives him.
Pandering for votes again I see!! Last time I checked the UCMJ still hasn't been changed to "allow" their off duty activities...
Choosing and voting for a presidential candidate is like picking which STD you want to suffer from….
I sincerely doubt it, though I would love to be proven wrong. It seems to me that true wisdom regarding politics and power.... "maturity," for lack of a better word... comes only with the realization that the entire house is rigged... No matter the game- roulette, poker or slots- the house will always win, and win BIG. In such a situation, the only way to win is to simply walk out, and merely refuse to play. Any attempt to "beat" a rigged game will result in being fleeced but good. Being a sheep, though, it would appear he enjoys it... (((shaking head in disbelief))) It would seem we agree more and more... LOL. Who'd have guessed? ;)
