Catholics were pretty busy with a Muslim problem during those years, The Reconquista of Spain etc, which sort of morphed into the Spanish Inquisition. They did succeed in getting rid of huge numbers of Muzzies who had occupied the area for about 7 centuries. I'm NOT sorry if that offends Chick.
