Title: “A Vote for Romney is a Vote for Satan”

The title of this post is a direct quote from Bill Keller (actually it’s from 2007, but Keller hasn’t changed his mind). Keller is supposedly “the world’s leading Internet Evangelist” and founder of LivePrayer.com, with over 2.4 million subscribers. Bill Keller describes Mormonism as a “cult founded by a murdering polygamist pedophile named Joseph Smith.”

Some of the Mormon requirements and beliefs are really, really odd and just serve to increase its status in the eyes of Christians as a “cult”. For example: young, unmarried Mormon men are required to do two years of door-to-door proselytizing. I’m sure you’ve seen them; creepy guys in white shirts and ties wearing backpacks, always traveling in pairs. During this time of “service”, they are allowed on the internet for only 20 minutes a day and only allowed to visit ONE website: mormon.org. They’re taught that god is a flesh and blood person of substance, living on a planet near a star they call Kolob (sound a little like Scientology?) with his wives. Yes, apparently god himself is a polygamist. They also believe that Jesus and Satan were once brothers and that Jesus was also a polygamist. And let us not forget the magic underwear.

For more Mormon ridiculousness, see one of my earlier posts.

It might be hard for a prospective Mormon to believe in all this shit, so they are encouraged to pray to god to ask if the book of Mormon is true. They are told that the answer will come to them by means of a “burning sensation in their bosom”. A little Taco Bell before prayer apparently helps.

You can see how Christians have issues with all this. In a Public Religion Research Institute poll released in November, 49% of evangelical voters surveyed said they do not regard the Mormon faith as a Christian religion. Craig Berman, who did a short stint as Newt Gingrich’s Iowa State Political Director said that nominating a Mormon would result in “President Obama’s re-election… as a punishment from God.”

So, this is a call to all self-proclaimed right-wing Christians who would vote Republican in November. Unless you are a complete hypocrite, you simply cannot vote for Romney. Surely, the supposed 2.4 million subscribers to Bill Keller’s website certainly cannot in good conscience vote for that heathen, hell-bound Mormon. Since it now appears inevitable that Romney will indeed receive the nomination from the Republican party, it stands to reason that any true Christian Republican has two only choices: Vote for Obama or do not vote at all.

Poster Comment:

Of course voting for Obama. or not voting at all are not the only choices. Libertarian Party, and Constitution Party are good, as well as writing in a candidate.

Don't vote for Satan Romney, or Beelzebub Obama! (1 image)

A Vote for Romney is a Vote for Satan

From Wikipedia:

Practices common to Mormons include studying the scriptures, praying daily, fasting on a regular basis, attending Sunday worship services, participating in church programs and activities on weekdays, and refraining from work on Sundays when possible. Mormons also emphasize standards they believe were taught by Jesus Christ, including personal honesty, integrity, obedience to law, chastity outside of marriage and fidelity within marriage.

Mormons adhere to the Word of Wisdom, a health law or code that prohibits the consumption of tobacco, alcohol, coffee, and tea, and encourages the use of wholesome herbs, grains, fruits, and a moderate consumption of meat. The Word of Wisdom is interpreted to also prohibit other harmful and addictive substances and practices, such as the use of illegal drugs and abuse of prescription drugs. Mormons also oppose addictive behavior such as viewing pornography and gambling.

Yep. what a bunch of evil SOBs they really are. LOL.

We are not electing a Pope or the head of the Southern Baptist Convention. We are electing a President. I know a lot of Mormons. They are generally hard- working, family-oriented, salt-of-the-earth people.

Relying on wiki to demonstrate your understanding of the Mormon church is a bad choice. Wiki is a great source for the sound-bite society, where people think they can get everything in 15 seconds, and have the attention-span of a 3 year-old.

If you did understand how they work, then you'd understand why they're considered a cult, by anthropological standards of definition.

If you understood what the Mormon church is all about, you would then understand that their "missionaries" practice of spreading the word, is NOT something they do out of the goodness of their hearts, but done with very selfish motivations...

I suggest you check this website, and educate yourself on the subject.

I am relying on my personal experience with Morons, which have been universally positive.

I don't give a hoot what their religious beliefs are. I only care about how they conduct themselves in society.

Again, we are not electing a Pope or any other religious leader. We are electing a President.

That you hang out, and have positive experiences, with morons, does not surprise me in the slightest (Freudian slip, anybody?).

You start out by posting "information" about the Mormons from wiki, which doesn't tell the real story.

I point this out to you, and you admit not knowing shit about the subject which you attempt to speak, thus making yourself look even more stupid than normal...

Again, we are not electing a Pope or any other religious leader. We are electing a President.

Effective and ethical leadership comes from the moral core.

I'm not surprised that you don't understand this.

Oh please, you have no valid points to make, so you resort to pointing out something that was obviously a typo.

It's very clear that the discussion was about Mormons, not people like you (Morons).
