It isn't a matter of salvation, it is a matter of living with God. A Christian can live in sin for a season. The story of the Prodigal Son is an allegory of what I am telling you. The Prodigal Son got to the point where he hated the live of sin that he was living and returned to his father. The Prodigal Son didn't continue in sin and upon his return to his father's house, he was restored to fellowship with his father. Do you understand what I am telling you?
