Poster Comment: In order to understand the above verses, one must realise that first, God set down the limits of government and defined the purpose of government and rulers. Government rulers are ministers. Their job is to faithfully carry out God's will and ensure God's laws are enforced. Government is limited to the execution of justice. It is to punish what God defines as evil and reward that which God defines as good. God told men they could rule as long as they stayed within the limits and purpose of government. Once a ruler strays from God's definition of government, the contract is broken and man is no longer obligated to obey or submit. In fact, man then has an obligation to rid itself of evil, wicked rulers. Basically, there are three spheres of influence that do not overlap. In the middle is the very core of government, the family. To the right of the family is human government. To the left is the church. Government and the church both origninate from the family. Neither is to cross over and interfere with the family.

Bullshit. You just want to live a life of rebellion and you redefine everything to suit your twisted purposes. Why bother? Just admit that you want to do evil, that you enjoy it, and get busy. No one cares. You don't have to justify your actions. Stop pretending, you don't have to be a Christian.
I think this is a great topic. In the Bible god layed down what the purpose of government was. I believ in Romans somewhere maybe chapter 10. If government usurps authority beyond on what God has ordained as their puropse, are we supposed to submit to that? For example in China they don't let people attend church from what I understand. Should the people submit to that authority? What about here in America if the government wanted to draft you into an unjust war. Should you submit to that unlawful authority and kill people? What about a church that is talking about gods values. Shouldn't they be allowed to criticise the governments illegal and immoral actions. I'm with crwinger on this one.
