Title: Feinstein wants 'sane national conversation'

Sen. Dianne Feinstein on Sunday urged President Barack Obama and Republican rival Mitt Romney to turn their focus to gun legislation in the wake of the mass shooting in a Colorado theater that killed a dozen people.

"I would hope that there would be a sane national conversation on guns. President [George W.] Bush said he supported the continuation of the assault weapon legislation," the California Democrat said on "Fox News Sunday." "President Obama, Mr. Romney, I think they should give it a lot of consideration. I think this is a bad time to brace a new subject, but there has been no action. There has been no action because there's been no outreach out there. People haven't rallied forward."

Feinstein, who helped lead the charge to pass the now-expired assault weapons ban in 1994, said there was a "tremendous amount of support" for that bill, but that it's "a lot tougher now, because the gun organizations have become so strong."

Romney's take on firearms: go grab 'em!

I agree. I hope that there is finally a sane national conversation on guns as well.

Here it is:

the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed

I agree. If one person in that audience was armed, how many lives could have been saved? We'll never know, but potentially quite a few.

In 38 states, there are literally NO restrictions on carry permits. If you apply, they have to give you one unless you are a convicted felon. In most of the rest of the states, carry permits require some justification. There are only 2 or 3 states where carrying a weapon in public is completely outlawed.

How many people have carry permits??? Almost no one.

We've been deluded into thinking that the police can protect us. They can't. There aren't enough of them, which is a good thing.

We need to start taking our rights back. This is one way to do it.

Seriously, I actually looked into this about a month ago. There are no restrictions in Washington State on carrying a gun (need a permit, which they have to give you, unless you are a felon). There is no age limit on learning how to shoot a gun. I am going to sign up my wife, 16 year old daughter and 10 year old daughter for firearms training in August. (The 4 year old is just too young!)

I learned how to shoot when my dad bought me a 4-10 for my 13th birthday. It's time to teach the wife and kids.

Feinstein and Pelosi...and frankly ALL Dem-feminists in every state are evil witches and vampires. Their "religion" is power. Tossing children (or people) into ovens never gets too old for them.

For some reason "evil" is worse when perpetrated *by* a woman. I guess it's because I expect them to be natural nurturers instead of natural destroyers (like men). Whatchoo think, Rowdee?

Virtually all women in politics bother me--generally because they act with their hearts instead of their heads....all the touchy-feely crap vs real meat and potato activities.

As for nurturers....it grieves my heart to see that so many mothers-to-be become accomplices in the murder of unborn children. It is especially evil becauce society sees women as nurturers and not killers. The human mind can make associations of things, even though there is no validity to it. The mind becomes immune to it over time.

In this regard, it makes no difference whether they are Ds or Rs--evil is evil, and both sides approve of murdering the unborn. Condoning rather than condemning isn't going to buy them a place at God's table.

I believe this is why we see so much murdering by young people. Between these murderous video games and the extremely low value placed on life by mothers.

"I would hope that there would be a sane national conversation on guns.

Me,too. For example, there should be a federal law prohibiting any elected official that promotes gun control from legally owning or being in possession of a gun,and it should be illegal for them to hire bodyguards.

This means Di-Fi will lose HER CCW permit and not even be allowed to enter the US Senate with her concealed 38.

Feinstein, who helped lead the charge to pass the now-expired assault weapons ban in 1994,

Feinstein, whose husband is the chief lobbyist for the Chinese arms manufacturer NORINCO,is widely suspected of being the one who leaked the information about the upcoming raid on the NORINCO warehouse at the former San Diego Navy Base (she helped arrange the sale of warehouses at Long Beach to the Chinese PLA) to the NORINCO officials living in this country, allowing them to escape arrest from the federal felony arrest warrants that had been issued for them. They all flew out of the country the night before the search and arrest warrants were to be served, and to this day not a single one of them has been arrested.

This was the famous raid on the warehouses at Long Beach that resulted in thousands of fully automatic Chinese AK-47's (REAL machine guns) and the ammunition for them were found still crated that NORINCO had agreed to sell to The Bloods and The Crips.

Di Fi chaired the Senate Committee at the time that had just been briefed on these upcoming raids the same day they all flew out of the country.

But,I'm sure this is just a coinkydink, and as a US Senator she would NEVER disclose classified information to a foreign power,or that her husband, their chief lobbiest in the US,would ever do so if his wife just happened to "accidentially" make a phone call from DC to San Diego the same afternoon all those NORINCO officials flew out of the countr on "urgent business back in China."

Whoa. Pelosi and Feinstein and Wasserman-Schultz HAVE no heart...

I submit that many female politicians *pretend* to have hearts. Once elected, they are as vicious as any male croc in the creek.

As for nurturers....it grieves my heart to see that so many mothers-to-be become accomplices in the murder of unborn children. It is especially evil becauce society sees women as nurturers and not killers. The human mind can make associations of things, even though there is no validity to it. Well stated.

That contradiction of killing their unborn (when they're supposed to be nurturing it) confuses young women...who eventually rationalize the irrational and defend the indefensible.

In this regard, it makes no difference whether they are Ds or Rs--evil is evil, and both sides approve of murdering the unborn. Condoning rather than condemning isn't going to buy them a place at God's table.

Hear ya. I've never understood the hypocrisy by supposed Christians or conservatives, "I don't support abortion but I support a woman's right to choose (baby-murder)."

Does. NOT. Compute.

I believe this is why we see so much murdering by young people. Between these murderous video games and the extremely low value placed on life by mothers.

Good point....

When the Commie-Kenyan President referred to a carrying a child to term as "punishment," millions should have taken him to task in the public square. Instead we got...yawns. When the blood-lust video-game culture should be blamed for the mass murder, it's guns and their responsible owners who got blamed.

The media owns the message. The Dems and elites own the media. Connect the dots.

General neuter usage in a sentence as a normal part of writing.

Further on you find where the word used is Person when discussing qualifications, what few there are, for the office, as in a person must be 35 or whatever the actual wordage is.

Think Original Intent

At the writing of the constituion women weren't allowed to vote. When the constituoin was written do you really think women could run for President? Obviously not. Now they amended the constituion to allow women to vote. But there was no mention of allowing women to run for President.

Furthermore. Note that there are no mention of having to be a male to run for the House or be appointed to the Senate.

Article. I. Section 1.

All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives. Section. 2.

Clause 1: The House of Representatives shall be composed of Members chosen every second Year by the People of the several States, and the Electors in each State shall have the Qualifications requisite for Electors of the most numerous Branch of the State Legislature.

Clause 2: No Person shall be a Representative who shall not have attained to the Age of twenty five Years, and been seven Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State in which he shall be chosen.

Were you aware that less than 20% of the male population was allowed to vote?

http://www.infoplease.com/timelines/voting.html

U.S. Voting Rights When the Constitution was written, only white male property owners (about 10 to 16 percent of the nation's population) had the vote. Over the past two centuries, though, the term "government by the people" has become a reality. During the early 1800s, states gradually dropped property requirements for voting. Later, groups that had been excluded previously gained the right to vote. Other reforms made the process fairer and easier.

1790 Only white male adult property-owners have the right to vote.

1810 Last religious prerequisite for voting is eliminated.

1850 Property ownership and tax requirements eliminated by 1850. Almost all adult white males could vote.

Do you think they would have 'allowed' them to run for President if they couldn't vote? Even though they didn't specify that? Running for office and attaining office are two different things.

What does 'allowed' have to do with running for the presidency? Can, should, would are applicable verbs, but not allowed.

Why did they switch from he to person when describing the qualifications. Surely, they didn't forget language skills from one paragraph to another....

The comments about only a small part of the population being able to be president would still hold true if you were also asserting, insinuation-wise or otherwise, their inability to run for President.

I think only property holders should be able to vote. We're the ones left holding the bag when the people decide to vote all these 'goodies' in. Renters can get up and move away if they don't like it.......it isn't always easy to sell a piece of property so you can get out from under a heavy tax burden.
