Can I Tell This Story and Not be Racist?

posted on June 24, 2012 by Gary DeMar

I’ve been thinking a lot about race lately. There’s no way to escape the topic since nearly everybody and his brother are accusing conservatives of being racists.

Eric Holder said that Americans are cowards when it comes to race. Maybe we are. No one likes to be called a racist. I’m not a coward. I want to talk about race since many black neighborhoods and schools are disintegrating. Too many young blacks have succumbed to an ingrown black culture that is not healthy. Cultural integrity can be a good thing, but not when it’s manufactured in the name of a blame-game.

Blacks are going to have to save themselves. The place to start is where the disintegration is most visible.

Consider these statistics from The New Century Foundation’s The Color of Crime (2005), an American report on the differences in crime rates by race. It found the following:

■Blacks are seven times more likely than people of other races to commit murder, and eight times more likely to commit robbery.

■Hispanics commit violent crimes at roughly three times the white rate.

■Of the nearly 770,000 violent interracial crimes committed every year involving blacks and whites, blacks commit 85 percent and whites commit 15 percent.

■Blacks are an estimated 39 times more likely to commit a violent crime against a white than vice versa, and 136 times more likely to commit robbery.

■Blacks are 2.25 times more likely to commit officially-designated hate crimes against whites than vice versa.

■Only 10 percent of youth gang members are white.

■Hispanics are 19 times more likely than whites to be members of youth gangs. Blacks are 15 times more likely, and Asians are nine times more likely.

■Blacks are seven times more likely to be in prison than whites. Hispanics are three times more likely.

As difficult as blacks had it during the days of segregation, a distinctly black culture developed even in the prevalence of racist attitudes and restrictive laws. We forget, or have never been told, that Washington, D.C., from 1920 to 1960, “was a financial, spiritual, and cultural stronghold. Because Washington was a segregated city, blacks simply created their own metropolis. . . . The first black bank, the Industrial Savings Bank, was started here.” While “the black population of New York’s Harlem inherited many of its buildings from previous white owners, . . . many of the buildings in Shaw were paid for by black businessmen and built by black hands.”[1]

Families were intact, the divorce and unwed mother rates were no different from that of white communities.

Take a look photographs of the 1963 March on Washington led by Martin Luther King, Jr. Notice how everyone is dressed. Most of the men are wearing suits and ties. Many of the women are wearing hats, as are the men. There is a dignity about the crowd.

Blacks are not helped by the continued claim that all problems for them are racial. Some are, but most aren’t. Black on black crime is not the fault of white people. Sky-high out-of-wedlock births are not the fault of whites. High dropout rates among blacks are not the fault of whites. The solution is not to cry “racism” and blame everything on whites or hundreds of years of oppression. Blacks won’t find their problems solved by appealing to the State.

Welfare programs have done a lot to keep black families down by subsidizing family fragmentation and fostering multi-generational dependency. Black problems aren’t solved by naming streets after Martin Luther King, Jr. The same can be said for the King Holiday and Black History Month. These are liberal crumbs to appease the black community, but have any of these actions helped blacks?

Guilt-ridden whites vote for the advocates of government dependency, and anyone who does not will be labeled — you guessed it — a “racist.” It’s a cover for the bill of goods that so-called black leaders sold to their people in the name of “social justice.”

Subsidies have led to the immobility of the poor, the breakup of the black family, and dependency on government programs. My message to blacks: Do the right thing and work to fix it. Cast aside those who have been leading down the real road to recovery. Will the task be hard? Herculean. Are there people who will pitch in to help? Lots! But we won’t do it if the answer is going to be more government, guilt, and charges of ‘racism’ every time you don’t like what’s being offered as real solutions.

Blacks of America unite . . . the only thing you have to lose are your chains of dependency and victimhood.

Yes,you are a racist. Don't you know that EVERYTHING is the "falts ob dat ole debbil,de white mans!"?

Black problems aren’t solved by naming streets after Martin Luther King, Jr.

That's true. He was just a common white collar thief, liar, and con man. He doesn't represent modern black culture in any respect. We need to start naming streets, housing developments, and schools after basketball players, rap stars, and famous pimps to show respect for the modern black culture.

That's because they weren't willing to sell themselves and you into slavery in return for a government check.

I'm guessing neither was very involved with black churches, either. Black Americans have never had a bigger enemy than their own religious leaders.

Note....not my accomplishments that did it -- rather the threat of retaliation that shut the dickheads up.

That's always the way it is,regardless of color or culture. The underachievers are always jealous of and try to torment the people of their own circle that do work hard and achieve because the achievers highlight their laziness and lack of intelligence. Nobody has ever been able to reason with people dedicated to dragging others down to their level. The only thing they respond to is physical threats because it is the only thing they can be bothered to understand.

Plus having a classics english professor irish mom who could pound most of them into the next month --

Yeah, the Irish CAN be a little "testy".

We are seriously contemplating moving over to Asia.

That would be a serious mistake. Asians are the worlds biggest racists. They may be polite in public, but they even hate each other. I know you consider your wife to be a Asian, but the truth is she is an American that just LOOKS Asian.

Jag, you were blessedly in the EXCEPTIONAL PERCENTILE.

Normal parents -- and they exist in all shades. In ever dwindling numbers in all shades as our moral fiber crumbles.

This is true overall....however the absolute demolition of the Black Culture began in earnest (thanks to the 'Civil Wrongs Act' aka the 'Blame Whitey Act of 1965', AND the 'Kill the Preborn Baby Act' of 1973 (Roe v Wade').

I had all the same "mutt" / "oreo" vulgarities hurled at me as i put it in high gear and zoomed past the plantation gates. Growing large and learning tkd and escrima provided the gradual diminishing of the taunts. Note....not my accomplishments that did it -- rather the threat of retaliation that shut the dickheads up. Plus having a classics english professor irish mom who could pound most of them into the next month -- who rode harley davidson's and drove a dump truck in the 50's -- one that broke a pool cue over my head for smart mouthing her. Once---that she heard.

THAT is a great bio of your experience as a "mutt"...and examples of Mom's grittiness still has me LMAO....still....ROFL. The Harley...the dump truck...cracking to pool stick over your wise-azz noggin...

Hey - when I wuz a little kid, the next door neighborhood's dad didn't like us because we wuz Eye-talian-Catholics. The mom was great - she'd have us over to play with her two kids - even in the house, would feed us, etc. But even she made it clear WE HAD TO LEAVE PRONTO when the old man was scheduled home from work. Timeline: Early 60s. You'd be surprised at the prejudice of Italian-Americans even in the northeast.

Actually it's easy to blame the plantation kneecrawling toms and tomasinas --- and yet who i really blame is the largest group of asshole enablers on the face of the earth....honky leftists who are as conviving in their plans to build a trusty voting block as they ever were in phoney hand wringing.

Gotta say - BOTH groups have sh*t in their own nest...AND the rest of ours in the process.

The Honky Leftist Academe and Elites are the ones who created that whole "victimhood" status of ALL blacks while enabling the worst element of black "leadership" to lead them...straight into the moral/economic abyss by removing daddy from the equation and justifying a permanent rage against whitey - no doubt part of creating the "divide & conquer"/Plantation agenda...

nice thought -- "Blacks of America unite . . . the only thing you have to lose are your chains of dependency and victimhood" --- won't happen as most of my community including the hard working one's have had their thoughts skewed by pervasive black racism coupled with an almost SEIU or UAW mentality of "what's in it for me.....f@@k what it does to my children and their children"

Unfortunately, your assessment here is true. The peer pressure and ostracizing within Black Culture in rife. Principle-be-damned. Again, the Divide & Conquer ruse has worked...to a tee. Cultural separatism is nearly 90-95% - the same as the PCT who voted for 0buma. Back in the 1950s (or before WWII) the Euros were splintered into monolithic groups...but slowly began to accept each other as "co-American peers." Unfortunately, I don't think we're going to see this cultural integration ever amongst with blacks or "Latinos" in the near future; In the contrary - frankly, there seems to be an un-said Civil War raging just below the surface. It includes an amalgam of ALL so-called "Minorities" vs. Whitey/Christians/Straights/Conservatives/Non-Union peeps.

We are seriously contemplating moving over to Asia. I hope for the best here and will keep property for our son but honestly---it's not hard to see where the train tracks end here in the USA.

In which Asian countries are "mutts" acceptable? IF at all? Aren't the Japanese also prejudice? This nation is huge. Surely you can find a state, an area that minimizes the residue of future runaway trainwrecks. When the SHTF, Asia will not be immune.

Honky leftists and secular humanists have totally controlled public schools, the Academe, the Unions, the UN, the media, and the goob since...the end of WWII.

HOW did this happen?? And why was it so important to destroy the moral foundation of the USA and our nationalist pride?

We know dat's true cuz Sharpton, Jackson, PBS, the Media, Time Mag, the NEA, and even ESPN sez it's true.

Black problems aren’t solved by naming streets after Martin Luther King, Jr.

One of the really strange cultural tossing of a bone appeasement moves - do Blacks REALLY find pride in that? As soon as the ol' the GPS sees 'Martin Luther King Blvd.' on the route, the instinctive reaction is, "NO F&%#!ong way". Why not honor a man like George Washington Carver?

Moreover, why can't there be a Black History Week instead of "Month"? And then spread out weeks of Irish/German/Italian/French/etc. the acknowledge all ethnic contributions? Meh. Only kidding. NO "week" or "month" devoted to ANY one group is warranted. UNLESS an divisive agenda is the MO.

For that matter - how about "American Revolutionary War Week," Or "US Constitution Month"?? Aaaah...now THOSE would truly be "subversive" mandatory NEA requisites.

Black Americans have never had a bigger enemy than their own religious leaders.

Now it's true; Once upon a time (the 1950s and early 60s) it was a great source of spiritual inspiration. Now too many are mere political pulpits.

That's always the way it is,regardless of color or culture. Great universal observation.

HA! Hmmm...Don't know jag's wife except that Jag has mentioned she is of Asian descent. You may be right, Pete - she IS "American". And I may look "Eye-talian" but I'm 110% American. And so were my Mom & Dad. Tuscany and Sicily are NOT my "roots"; Washington and Adams and Patrick Henry ARE.

I guess it all boils down to how much blood and sweat someone feels they've invested in their land. I weep for America; I don't weep for Italy.

Rowdee is right, Lib, I know from first-hand experience, not just from raising my own, but from stepping in and making it my business (and g-pa's too) in the way our first g-child was being raised.

His parents were as typical as any knuckle headed kids who thought they knew it all, but they decided to have a kid first instead of the other way around, it didn't work, they found out they had NOTHING in common, even race, but that kid. So when he was born, our first g-kid became a weapon they used against each other.

G-pa and I, and his other g-parents, we all did what we could to give him a somewhat 'normal' life...until he turned 7, I had him in school, he had his own room, his own things, a feeling of security, a place where he felt like it was HOME, then my daughter and his father started again.....I was fuming.....

I sat our g-son down and told him how much we loved his mother, and father, but we wanted him with us, to have a home to call his own and not have to worry about who was going snatch him every few months, but we left it up to him if he wanted to stay, tho he could spend holidays and summer with either of his parents....and he agreed. That little fellow stood up in court (his mother or father never showed), and told the judge what HE wanted.

When he turned 15, I allowed his father to take over, we felt he was too imature to raise him, but over the years his dad did GROW UP, a little....his college career had a big influence on me allowing this.

Anyway, our g-son turned 18 this past April, graduated high school last month, and call me yesterday...his first day at Sullivan College, Lexington, Ky. All these years we thought he'd make football, or basketball his goal....but his love of cooking won over, he's training to be a Chef!

I'm sure rowdee remembers me talking about that little fellow at FU from time to time when he was growing up.

Lib, he had to overcome some obstacles that most teens don't, he was a black child, living in a white world, but it took both our families (black and white) coming together as one, loving him all the time, being there for him, all the time.

He is also a product of this lousy public school system, but we were also there to run interference if his school were feeding him, or any of my other g-kids, leftist propaganda.

We can't save the whole world, Lib, all we can do is live and care for our little part of it...it's up to the parents who they want to raise their kids, them, or the public school system, their peers, the media...ect! jmho!

I remember years ago, of letting him on at FU to talk with, Scott, Bretts brother. He and Scott had a passion for fishing. Don't know why I refer to him as 'a little fellow', hell, he's over 6' tall, you'd think he was a very young...Mr. T, he's huge!

That is some great testimony, Mur...Great job.

I'm not saying attentive, caring parents and G-parents don't make a difference - sure they do; I'm saying there ARE many obstacles that conspire against ALL young people in THIS culture. Black kids have it even harder due to peer pressure.

Lib, he had to overcome some obstacles that most teens don't, he was a black child, living in a white world, but it took both our families (black and white) coming together as one, loving him all the time, being there for him, all the time...He is also a product of this lousy public school system, but we were also there to run interference if his school were feeding him, or any of my other g-kids, leftist propaganda.

Yeah, I realize all that...

I believe Leftist institutions, media, and public schools see ALL blacks as their potential tools. It's insidious. Those who endure become these institutions' greatest enemies because THEY REALIZE THE SYSTEM TRIED TO SABOTAGE AND BRAINWASH THEM.

We can't save the whole world, Lib, all we can do is live and care for our little part of it...it's up to the parents who they want to raise their kids, them, or the public school system, their peers, the media...ect! jmho!

That's still quite a task. Kudos to those who shove back, won't back down, and help positively influence other kids.

MONEY, GREED, and POWER have been driving this decades-long undermining of our nation, culture and (middle class) wealth - as well as the entire West - by the elites.

Of course when you control the message (the goob, media, entertainment, and schools), you control the (collective) sheeple.

Included in the 'caring' business is religion, PTA, scool board meetings, and definitely hounding our congress cowards. We owe this to our kids because they will be entering the world we allow to be created.

If, as a society, we are content to allow schools to teach sex education by demonstrations of sex toys and oral sex and the gay agenda, we've definitely let our children down on several fronts.

We failed miserably over a S/C that has government not only allowing killing the innocent, but all the rest of us get to pay for it. I recognize we did not have quick informaiton tools like the internet back then; but there were newspapers, radio, and television, not to mention the pulpits in churches throughtout the nation that could have led the charge in demanding changes...if not legislatively then thru the impeachment of every S/C justice that supported that abominable decision.

Caring goes beyond our front door.

Something that's sorely missing in todays world, they would rather give the kids $10 and tell em to get lost than sit down and have a conversation with them...

I was raised in southern California near the entertainment capital area.

I know for a fact that this is true, as it was at least starting back then. One of the young men who started attending our church was the son of a producer or director in the movie industry. They lived in an upscale area and entertained a lot.

Their son, Robert, was given $20 anytime they had company and was told to 'find soemthing to do'. Fortunately for Robert, he started hanging out with my boyfriend at his parents house--thats how he started going to church.

I overhead my Mom and my boyfriends Mom discussing Robert one day, and the other Mom was saying how sad it was because Robert so craved affection. They treated Robert like he was theirs, meting out punishment when necessary, etc. Robert thrived under their care.

He could have gone the opposite direction--his access to money could have found him in drugs, or worse.

Yes, I do remember your raising the little one. Time sure does pass--in college already.

It was and still is always the children I am concerned for with mixed race marriages. Its hard enough just growing up and making it to adulthood under ideal circumstances. But to not 'fit' into either world would be tough. We can see the result in the white house...though the bonds of socialism/marxism have helped him (if you want to call that 'help').

I've never quite figured out why appearances with "Friends" is so important to some people, and their own children mean so little to them???

Heck I don't think I know the names of more than 2 or 3 of my neighbors, and that doesn't bother me one bit either.... LOL...

He could have gone the opposite direction--his access to money could have found him in drugs, or worse.

I was just talking with a friend this afternoon, and he told me about one of his wife's 30 year old relatives that just hanged himself in a local jail last week. Busted for drugs again, and looking to serve some hard time this time, and he just couldn't stand the thought of living like that.

Yes,he broke the law and yes he brought this all on himself by becoming addicted to drugs, but the harsh truth is that If drugs were legalized,he would still be alive today. Who knows,he could have even been one of the lucky ones that managed to beat his habit if he had lived?

Don't you think it's time to remove this stupid, moronic tagline? For one thing, it looks like part of your post... creates clutter.

If you go to [Setup] you can suppress taglines in your settings. I finally did it about a year or so ago.

I'm really getting bored often on these news forums because they are so slow and inactive. I feel the urge to glance at the headlines and flame wars several times a day, but I no longer feel a need to participate like I used to.

Yeah, it's sad, but a man can't continue doing the same stupid thing - that's the very definition of insanity. We all must have SOME measure of discipline.

Better than crying with another 4 years of 0buma and YOU b*tching and moaning have done jacksquat to prevent it.

I never said Romney was NOT going to implement those things or be a RINO-globalist.

Just that he:

1) is NOT going to continue 0buma's Operation: "SCORCHED EARTH".

2) Isn't a radical Whitey-hating, Muslim fascist-Commie committed to destroying the nation from the rafters to the basement

3) As a Republican will provide the time and space that conservatives and constitutionalists need to infiltrate the GOP and win some ideological/sovereignty/common sense battles

4) Provide SOME measure of sanity within the DoJ and other Commie run Cabinet positions and Czar-doms

5) Give American business and industry a chance the breathe again without coercion, harrassment, and blackmail

With what do you disagree?
