Some of which is directed towards God, even though you deny His existence, some irony there. All I have to say to you is, don't believe the "book reviews" and pick up the Bible and explore. The Bible is open for examination. Give it a try.
Sorry, I have no interest in further christian indoctrination. I spent 8 years in catholic schools and learn at an early age that it's all BS. The thing that frigged me out was the concept of "purgatory". What the fuck kind of god punishes newborns for not being baptized by their parents. I have no idea what the catholic or other christian religions teach now and I certainly don't have an interest in finding out. I live a great life not incumbered by the religious "hate" teachings like gays or evil and you're going to hell if you don't follow the rules of pompous humans trying to pretend to speak for god. Believe what you will. I hope you have a great life.

Instead of throwing the baby out with the bath water I sunk my teeth in the Word of God. It is quite liberating to read the unfiltered Word of God and not rely on the traditions of men. You will find out by reading God's Words that nowhere is there mentioned a pergatory or punishments for newborns.
Red, there's no reason for us to have a debate because I'm a confirmed atheist and nothing will change that. BTW, I have read the bible. I will emphasize that although I'm an atheist I have my 8 year old enrolled in bible classes. Likewise I don't express my atheist views to him. I believe that religion is a personal thing and he needs to form his own opinion.
Good move. Hope they are very good Bible classes. If your 8 year old comes home soon and asks you about God, will you then share you are an atheist? I do appreciate you kind demeanor when discussing faith topics. I am an incurable "romantic" when it comes to proclaiming the Gospel. Experiencing and seeing the Power of God changing lives is awesome. If you ever get the "itch" to discuss why you are an atheist, I would be glad to hear you out. RLH
