Tea party activists say they'll abstain from voting on Election Day By ROBERT J. VICKERS, The Patriot-News Though Mitt Romney has sewn up the Republican presidential nomination, some tea party activists remain unconvinced of his conservative credentials and plan to abstain in November. “I have heard from various folks in the tea party that they would rather stay home,” said Ana Puig, the state director of FreedomWorks, a conservative activist training group. “I’m hearing that from people all over the country and on Facebook.” The Romney rejection stems from the deeply held belief by many conservatives that the former Massachusetts governor is really a moderate wolf in conservative sheep’s clothing. Many conservatives worry that he would govern as a traditional big-government Republican. “They think Romney is a RINO,” said Puig, referring to the oft-used and derisive acronym Republican In Name Only. “You do have the very right-wing folks who are going to stay home, but a no vote is a vote for Barack Obama,” said Puig, who is also the co-chairwoman of Bucks County’s Kitchen Table Patriots tea party group. Scott Burkholder, an organizer in the York County 912 Patriots, said he also has heard tea party members say they’ll pass on voting for Romney. “I’ve heard that,” Burkholder said. “I think that’s dangerous.” It’s not clear how many in the tea party will actually stay away from the polls on Election Day. Burkholder attributed the sentiment to the momentary frustration of not getting a more conservative candidate, such as Pennsylvania’s former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum. “The same things were said about [2008 GOP nominee] John McCain,” Burkholder said. “When McCain won the nomination, we were for Romney because he was more conservative than McCain. You can see how far the conservative movement has come now that Romney isn’t conservative enough.” Much of the dissenting sentiment stems from the vocal libertarian wing of the party. “The majority of Tea Party members will vote for Mitt Romney, but the majority of Ron Paul folks will not,” Puig said of the Texas congressman who remains a candidate for the GOP nomination. “They’ll stay home, but they don’t represent the grassroots movement.” Burkholder said he has personally tried to convince libertarian Paul supporters to join the fold. “Ron Paul people are going to vote for Ron Paul no matter if he gets into the race or not,” Burkholder said. “I’ve had that back-and-forth with a lot of Ron Paul people.” Romney will undoubtedly campaign more from the middle to woo independent moderates. Some libertarians — who see no substantive difference between Romney and Obama — believe he could still win over the libertarian wing if he made a genuine effort. “A lot of us are hoping we can form a coalition in August and move forward,” said Dewayne Delgrande, a registered Camp Hill Republican who votes libertarian. “But Mitt Romney needs to have something to offer,” Delgrande said. “He hasn’t shown any indication of that, but I hope it will come. He shouldn’t take the faction for granted.”

What does that mean exactly. That means that one of them will 100 percent for sure be the next president. Even if millions vote third party. Which I have done in the past.
You really think Romney is going to scale back the police state, is he going to repeal the NDAA, the PATRIOT Act? Will he stop the use of drones spying on Americans? No but he will have lower taxes. He will open up more drilling. He said he will repeal Obamacare. I expect him to do that if congress sends him a bill. The issues you speak of Obama and Romney tie. So Romney wouldn't be any worse on those issues imo. I wouldn't call Romney a socialist either. Their foreign polilcy will admittidly be very similar. Their domestic policy will have more differences.
Instead, both parties and most mainstream organizations funnel into the same end result: total control. While the left and right bicker publicly on hot topics," the end result is the same, regardless of who is President, or who is in control of Congress. Less freedoms for individuals, less sovereignty for nations, losses of jobs through insane international agreements like NAFTA, the dilution of American culture, and the over extension of our military. It's been said that if you don't like what the Republicans are doing, vote for the Democrats, and if you don't like what Democrats are doing, vote Republican. It's set up like a game. I have my favorite team, and you have yours. I'll back my team no matter what, just as long as your team doesn't win. The problem is, both teams are full of scandalous figures who are so busy selling you and I out for their own personal gain, they have no time or desire to help our country in this time of need. While we Americans are busy cheering our favorite politicos and jeering our least favorites, both sides are pursuing the policy of the destruction of America. Lots of truth in your words. 2. If for some obscure reason the facts actually fall your way (an extremely rare occurrence) then repeat them endlessly regardless of the reply of your conservative opponent. Remember time is limited, use this against him.
3. Get as personal and vicious as you can, maybe it will distract your opponent from his train of thought.
4. If you are unable to insult him with the usual insults such as 'racist', 'homophobe', or 'bigot', then insult someone else on his side (someone related to the subject under discussion is preferable but not required).
5. When you're losing, and you usually will be, abruptly change the subject. Again the object of this is to distract and deflect attention from your opponent's argument.
6. Talk loudly and rapidly, don't allow your opponent to get a word in. Remember the more time you consume, the less time your opponent will have.
7. Use hyperbole as an example of your opponent's argument and suggest that that is what they are suggesting.
8. Purposely misunderstand what is being said by your opponent and distort it into something you can use.
9. Make up 'facts' most people don't check them and anyway, you'll be long gone by the time the truth is known, and so will the audience.
10. Expect perfection. Focus on the slightest flaw in your opponent's argument, any kind of mistake, grammatical, orthographicl, contextual, anything no matter how slight is sufficient to deflect attention away from how vacuous your arguments are.
11. Act insulted. Take umbrage at the slightest contradiction and act as if it is a personal insult. This will make your personal attack seem warranted and just.
13. Use condescending laughter as much as you can. It serves two purposes, first, it dismisses your opponent as being unworthy of your respect and second, it shows your contempt for his arguments. This is a very powerful tool and can really annoy your opponent and disrupt his train of thought.
14. You’re an arrogant Liberal; demonstrate your obvious intellectual superiority by acting in a condescending manner.
