You happened to wander in just after a big blowup between two factions here. One side operates like a pack of schoolyard bullies and trash every thread and start interforum squabbles and subterfuge while coordinating via forum mail and/or email and/or phone, a lot like some of the Harpy Squad did over at FR. If things die down and are getting too peaceful, they post flamebait threads just to stir it up. The other side just wants to discuss news stories and chit-chat politely. So, you've wandered in here just after a real barrage. While, for instance, yukon is never popular, he's most often ignored (by sane people since he posts like he's Charles Manson). But the sane posters got a little fed up with yukon's Posse and their tactics this week. You may have noticed h'up saying that "yukon has a better sense of these things". The forum owner has referred to him as her canary in the mine on more than one occasion and he has carte blanche here to be the biggest troll you're ever likely to see. This is like somebody who owns a vicious Rottweiler that they let attack anything that wanders by and says, "they sure do find the bad ones". Well, sure, if you attack everything that moves, you will get a few bad ones. But if you don't cheer on this Rottweiler (or Psycho-Canary) then you are probably the Enemy. Or something. Many of us are puzzled by this because it does sound a lot like family members who are enablers of a psychotic paranoid who attacks people for any and all reasons. You'll see it sooner or later. yucky will bait people with his filthy posts until someone gets mad, then Goldi shows up to scold us all that we've tormented poor helpless shy little yukon, her poor little Rottweiler/Canary. I suspect that, being a woman, you've already picked up the scent of this. FWIW, the sane posters here on LP seem most often to have a bozo list that includes most of the following Posse members: yukon (always #1 on the list), Byteshredder (filthy and baiting graphics), Gatlin, harrowup (our "conservative ACLU Democrat" if you know any of that breed), GrandIsland, byeltsin (an obvious doppelganger account), fifty yard line (another doppelganger account), WhiteSands. There are a few others that may annoy or who may pursue a few little vendettas against other posters here and there. For instance, I don't bozo GrandIsland (NY cop) because he sometimes makes good LE posts I like to read and he and I don't squabble. But that's just my experience and I've seen him light into others in a way that I do understand why they bozo him. Anyway, I'm not telling you to bozo them at all but it is clear that they operate as a pack. I believe that some or most of these posters come here from TOS (The Other Site a.k.a. FreeRepublic) to deliberately destroy this forum. Just keep that little list in mind as you get to know people here. We are all captured a bit by the Canary, you see. Goldie and the Posse think yukon is the canary in the mine, warning of lib infiltrators. The rest of us think that yukon is a canary as well. Except he attracts the poison gas (his Posse) and therefore anyone who associates themselves with him is more than suspect, especially when they start spewing filth, disrupting threads with unrelated attacks, online stalking (including starting fights on other forums that spill back over to LP), etc. Anyway, you make up your own mind. But you will choose one of the two factions. BTW, no woman here at LP (other than Goldi who often doesn't even read LP for days at a time) will have a thing to do with the Posse. If that's any hint. I've always noticed that women avoid men that talk like that, behave that way. Given that the Posse can trash the forum and other posters with impunity, I wouldn't blame you if you left now. But, with the bozo filter, LP is decent little forum and news chat site. TooConservative posted on 2012-06-10 6:35:25 ET A fairely well-reasoned post. Now that TooConservative's kimona is open, he is marked by the LP Gay Canary Klub.

This just shows how easy it is to wander into the wrong part of things in a new virtual domain. I got a couple of recommendations and I looked at another forum with the same software as this one that was too anti-semitic and racist for my taste, so I decided to post here in case lurking it first before I did changed my mind about it too.

LP has no management. It does have a nasty, vicious, rag-tag gay klub that has trashed the site on a continuous basis. As with the thread's posted comment, it is good to see some people actually take the time to make sense of the problem. I shall watch toconservative's posts more carefully as he seems to "care."
Well it looks like Jasmin's gander is cooked: ROTFL.
The site has nothing of interest anymore. If you want to spend time arguing with a bunch of tired old closet queens, hate mormons and are hoping obama gets reelected, then it's the place to be. I'm assuming that 90% of the posts there are done by yukon and the gay geezer posse. I not going to view their nonsense and add to lp's traffic count anymore. AVOID LP LIKE YUKON AVOIDED THE DRAFT.
I smelled retread in about 2 posts, but couldn't figure out who it was. LOL! That boy couldn't figure out if it was his left or right thumb up his ass.

forgot to add, If you think that palin is the savior of conservatism, and not just a failed politician and reality star, then it's the place for you. Personally, i thing the gay geezer posse loves her because they think her hubby is hot and they'd like to be her for one night.
On the surface, you are correct. But, there is a bit of phun from time to time of the ol' game, "SPY vs. SPY." It is the second derivative to what is seen; it is behind the scenes. It is fun to play the game, calcon. You know what I am discussing, correct?

I'm not asking for this thread to be removed but I'm not into the cross-forum thing that much. And it certainly isn't news. I generally think that this is the sort of thing that isn't helpful to post on a forum. You might have included how she made her first 2 posts, yukon started in on her like some rabid dog, then she asked Abcdefg if there was a forum function to report abuse. I started laughing. But if you were going to post something like this, Abcdefg has been hilarious the last day or so. And stretchedmind. I was LOL with those two's remarks. Abcdefg completely out-Possed the Posse. A mediocre and wordy post. And I'm no more or less marked now than I was. Not that I even care. This weekend has been no fun for the Posse. Almost every thread is just a nightmare for them. Well, good. Let them see what it feels like for once. As you'd expect of any bullies, they whine like little bitches if anyone dishes out just a little of what they do to others every single day.
I didn't know. LOL. Now I feel sooooo gullible.
Just a point: you seem to have a good sense about yourself for responsible posting. I think many of us do; the potential for debate and to learn from each other's respective opinions (which is often multivariate) is always apparent about some posters. You can see it, whether you are a newbie to this almost continuous LP rancourous dispute or someone that has finally decided to suspend personal patience about the same disputes. Whether anyone cares or not, I have lost my patience as a viewer to some of these chit-chat channels as I don't log-in with log-in specific filter capabilities. There used to be an army of good posters on LP; those days are over, too. There is an continuing intrigue about LP, however and without going into too much detail many of us are rallying for the "good guys" to WIN; we know who the good guys are, too. Is there an end to the comedic slap-stick that appears as two diametrically opposed political camps of thought? We shall all have to wait for the epilogue by a do-nothing Goldy-Lost; well some of us have to, anyway.
And it does diminish LF as a forum to have "news" that is nothing but someone's rather mediocre post from a rival forum.
I don't care about the outcome of your itemized list although I find Item 3 of special interest. The gay boyz of the LP hood street gang seem to think I create a boatload of shenanigans particularly on Sunday. I can't understand this silly idea at all. I read LP from time to time. I happened to spot it. Your post is well reasoned. It is a fairely accurate response of the issues that is on-going on LP, too. Nope. News is news and is not confined to news articles or anything else. The idea (from my perspective) is that something is cooking over at LP. It is my opinion, that LP is losing rank status anymore because of posters leaving. And, what you see are two diametrically opposed political factions that carry the weight of posts. LP is not what it was when I joined in 2003. It has devolved into rabble-rousing, which I find fascinating as I grab a beer and a flag while cheering, the GOOD FOLKS on LP. It beats television anytime.
After you get home from teaching Sunday school to the little children. Sure, we all know about that. Actually, you missed some great stuff. Abcdefg had me in stitches over his gay trucker advice to yukon, followed by some great advice of how to use a handgun.
