Title: Rand Paul's signal to the GOP

Mitt Romney won a valuable seal of approval Thursday night when Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul endorsed him for president – even though Paul’s father, Ron Paul, has not formally withdrawn from the presidential race.

The younger Paul’s support could be a boon to Romney as he tries to rally one of the more elusive parts of the GOP coalition: the youthful, disaffected, libertarian-leaning activists who powered Ron Paul’s presidential run.

But the upside goes both ways on this one: while Paul is a helpful validator for Romney, endorsing Romney also gives Paul a level of mainstream credibility he lacked during his 2010 Senate campaign. It shows he’s willing to be a team player when it counts, and puts him on the safe side of any speculation over a third-party libertarian push.

And that could be crucially important or Paul if he decides to seek the White House himself in 2016 or beyond – as any number of operatives believe he hopes to do.

“Rand’s endorsement of GOP nominee Mitt Romney clearly shows that in spite of those who try to marginalize him, he has keen set of political instincts and is very much aware that a successful national run will require more than just his father’s loyal following,” said one Republican strategist close to Paul-world.

So if Romney wins, Paul will be in a position to act as a voice of accountability on the right without being accused of sour grapes, or of having worked to undermine Romney from the start.

And if Romney were to lose, Paul would be able to tell the party in 2016 that whatever insurgent instincts he may have, he got on board with an establishment nominee at a moment when it mattered.

It shows he’s willing to be a team player

The problem is that he's switched teams, and is now playing for the D&R global elitists. The vast majority of liberty minded folks are pissed off, and even less likely to vote for Mitt now.

Gary Johnson (L), and Virgil Goode (Constitution Party) are starting to look a whole lot better. And then there's the possibility of just writing in Ron Paul.

Any of those options are better than endorsing evil by voting for Mitt or Obama.

"We (government) need to do a lot less, a lot sooner" ~Ron Paul

Obama's watch stopped on 24 May 2008, but he's been too busy smoking crack to notice.

Someone around these here parts of the Internet knows how to send a strong signal to the power elite and that be you, hondo68.

I received a phone call from the GOP just the other day. They asked me to listen to the rant of Mitt Romney. When the pre-recorded rant was all over a lady asked me if I was willing to donate money. I said, "yes." She quickly said, good news and said her supervisor would be on the tele-line in a jiffy.

I was asked how much I would enjoy in a one-time donation. I asked, "what am I going to get out of the deal?" I was told to remove 0bama. I told the supy, that he can go to HELL because I wouldn't send a buck to anyone that supports 0bama.

He said, oh you missed the point. I said, "no I didn't. Romney is nothing more than 0bama lite." I hung up after saying, "I wouldn't send you a buck to save your life."

You can ask them a thousand times to remove your name from their list, they usually agree to do so. But they never do.

But you pull this nasty little trick on them a few times and you will be off that list. Until they sell your name to some other outfit.

If the two party charlatans of America have answers, how is America in the Dark Ages, today? Isn't the truth more about how the two party charlatans FAILED America?

The political bastards start calling my house at 6pm sharp every night and they don't stop until 9pm.

Years ago, Congress passed a law that created a no call database.

Of course they exempted themselves and their fundraisers from the law.

Cock suckers.

Still in effect at donotcall.gov.

The law requires them to remove your name from their lists within 30 days.

Of course, a company can go out of business, then pop up and have 30 days to call you again from that old list they just happened to retain.

Damned scammers.

Sometimes I suspect they are doing everything possible to force us all to cellphones (no spam calls) because they love the ease of hacking our phones, turning on cameras and mics remotely and tracing our every movement via the GPS that was federally mandated into every cellphone about five years ago. That includes the cellphones that don't even offer you a GPS option; it still has GPS in it that they can read.

Tie it all together with OnStar (can turn on a microphone in your car anytime they want with real-time GPS tracking of the vehicle).

Damn, pretty soon you have a Big Brother that even the Soviets couldn't have dreamed up.

And that is just the tip of the iceberg.

No. The politicians have exempted political fundraisers from the law.
