politics and politicians Title: Dems Abandoning Obama and Joining GOP Dems Abandoning Obama and Joining GOP posted on June 2, 2012 by Giacomo Barack Obama has served as President of the United States for just over three and third years. In that time, he has done more damage to the United States than any president in the history of the nation. He has placed the country on the verge of a financial collapse that will make the Great Depression seem like a minor economical hiccup. He has stripped more constitutional rights than any president in history. More recently, he has taken stands on highly controversial issues like forcing religious institutions to do things that are against their faith and publicly endorsing same-sex marriage. His actions are not going unnoticed within his own party and if rats deserting the ship are an indication of anything its that Obamas ship is starting to take on water and flounder. The first rat to abandon ship is Jo Ann Nardelli from Pennsylvania. Nardelli is the president and founder of the Blair County Federation of Democratic Women as well as serving as a state Democratic committee woman. In a press conference last week, Nardelli announced that she was leaving the Democratic Party and joining the GOP because of her Catholic faith and the Partys endorsement of same-sex marriage. In various interviews, Nardelli explained, As the Democratic Party has taken the stand for same-sex marriage, then I must make a stand on my faith that marriage is between a man and a woman. Gods principles for life never change. His guidelines, given in Scripture, produce fruitful lives when you follow them. I thought I could make a difference to change our party. It didnt work. I noticed that its been going more and more to the left. This is not my fathers party. I did not leave the party; the party left me. The second rat to abandon the Obama ship is Artur Davis. Davis is a former US Representative from Alabama who helped get Obama on the 2008 ballot by being the first congressman to endorse Obama back in 2007. On Wednesday, Davis announced that he was also leaving the Democratic Party and joining the ranks of the GOP. Davis states that the reason for his departure is that he is not as far left as the Party platform and that they are intolerant of anyone not conforming to the Party standards. In interviews, Davis stated, The conventional wisdom in this town is that the Democrats have stayed in one happily tolerant place and that Republicans have moved to the hard right. I can assure you that in the Democratic Party, there is substantial intolerance for people who deviate from the party line. When you run for office and the main qualification you offer is that you can break stalemate and gridlock, and it doesnt happen and it gets worse, I think you have you be judged by that standard. Davis, who has been living in Virginia since 2010, said he may seek to run for office as a Republican in the near future. Robert McDonnell, Virginias Republican governor said that he will be calling Davis in the next couple of days to welcome him to the GOP. McDonnell said that Davis would be an appealing Republican candidate in northern Virginia. He also said, The fact that he has the courage to analyze the problems with the current administration on the issues of unifying diverse interests in America and creating jobs tells me this is a guy with a lot of principle. If Democrats take a good close look at what Obama has really accomplished during his term and then add the recent controversial stands that indicates he cares nothing for the Christian faith he professes to believe in, it would not surprise me to see more Democrats abandon ship and swim over to the Republican Party. Nardelli and Davis are only the first of what I pray will be a long line of Democrats who finally come to their senses.

Two rats do not a sinking ship make...or something like that. Let's see a list of all these tons of Democrats who are defecting. I don't believe it.
Let's see a list of all these tons of Democrats who are defecting. I don't believe it. This is the 2nd article I've seen on this but neither one has published a list soooooooo....
Sounds like blog fever, chasing page hits and ad clicks.
Me personally I could care less how many quit the Democrat Party, my point was the Republicans don't need to invite them in at all... Let them stew in their own juices or retire.....
My point was that 2 Dem defectors isn't exactly a stampede. That is only twice as many as the number of Indian princesses running for U.S. Senate in Massachusetts.
:D That's funny stuff.
