Title: AZ Secretary of State Satisfied That President Obama is a US Citizen

AZ Sec. of State Ken Bennett at a rally for Mitt Romney in 2012
Gage Skidmore

One hurdle to Barack Obama being on the November ballot has been removed.

That came late Tuesday when Secretary of State Ken Bennett got an e-mail from Hawaii officials confirming for him that they do, in fact, have an original birth certificate for the president on file.

"There's 12 points," he noted. "The first one says a birth certificate is on file with the department of health indicating that Barack Hussein Obama II was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. And then the second through 12th points each deal with a different point that we asked in the request."

That includes things like the names of the parents, the hospital and the time of birth. Bennett said all he was doing is responding to the concern of constituents who asked him to verify that the president is a natural born citizen and eligible to hold the office. Bennett said what he got is good enough for him. But he said he does not expect this to quell the controversy.

(I'm sure there are some on that end of the spectrum who will never be convinced," Secretary Bennett said. "Just as I'm sure that there are others on the other end of the spectrum who could never be convinced that he isn't or wasn't born in Hawaii."

But Bennett said the certification should satisfy at least some in the middle who simply have questions. He said all that remains now is for Obama to submit the same paperwork required of all candidates.

Poster Comment:

He's covering up Mitt Romney's ineligibility due to having a Mexican citizen father. He has to give Obama a pass too, to pull it off. Looks like the sort of partisan hack who'd overlook Marco Rubio's two non-citizen parents.

He's willing to accept any ineligible candidate rather than take the risk that a pro-American conservative that's eligible might get elected, like Ron Paul. (1 image)

SO I wonder what will happen if the Sheriffs that were dispatched to Hawaii (to get actual paper and fiche proof of his birth certificate) find out that the State of Hawaii officials are lying???? That could get real funny real quick!!!

Having non-native parents is not a dis-qualifier for the presidency.

As long as someone is born in the U.S as President Obama or Willard Romney were, they are qualified to run for this office.

There were no neocon progressives (libtards) at the time the constitution was written, so most folks knew what a natural born citizen was.

Vattel’s Law of Nations and the Founding Fathers

Vattel was the key in the United States Constitution in determining the Article 2 Natural Born Citizen clause. Here is a list of the references used by John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and George Washington in regards to Vattel’s Law of Nations. This should dispel any notion that the Founding Fathers did not use the Law of Nations as their guide.

"There were no neocon progressives (libtards) at the time the constitution was written, so most folks knew what a natural born citizen was."

neocons are anything but progressive. And when the U.S. Constitution was written in 1787, the only people born as U.S. Citizens were eleven years old or younger.

The first presidents started out life as colonial subjects of England.

The first presidents started out life as colonial subjects of England.

So what? They put in an exemption for anyone born up to the time the constitution was ratified. Clearly their intention was for future generation presidents to be natural born US citizens.

As British subjects they well understood the difference in loyalty between someone born of brit parents on brit soil, and some yahoo born in the british colony of Kenya of half-hearted brit subject parents.

To paraphrase Xlinton... It's the allegiance stupid!

Excellent arguments and 100% spot on.

I've made the same arguments so many times I'm tired of typing them.

This should dispel any notion that the Founding Fathers did not use the Law of Nations as their guide.

U.S. Constitution, Article I, §8:

The Congress shall have Power…To define and punish Piracies and Felonies committed on the high Seas, and Offenses against the Law of Nations
