Title: Scott Walker Using $100 Million Of Taxpayer Money To Fight Off Recall?

As Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker heads into the final stretch in his effort to hang onto his job, he is finding it increasingly more difficult to make his case honestly— or without using huge sums of taxpayer money to sway voters.

While life would likely have been easier for the Governor had collective bargaining remained the key issue of the campaign, now that the election has become largely about Walker’s record on job creation, the polls reveal that things are becoming increasingly more difficult for Scott Walker. Wisconsin currently competes with Nevada for the dubious title of worst job creator in the nation, resulting in the polls tightening into a dead heat, leaving the Governor with reason to be worried.

snip

Walker has consistently cried poverty in the state budget as the rational for his many controversial moves, the Governor miraculously came up with $100 million to fund economic development in Milwaukee’s poorest areas—money Walker claims will come from the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Board.

Even more surprising is the astonishing resemblance between the Walker scheme and the series of measures put forth by President Obama as the Governor’s proposal involves reoccupying foreclosed and vacant properties while making loans and venture capital money available to small businesses and industrial developers.

Of course, Scott Walker had been a vocal opponent of such proposals when uttered by the President.

Just in case even that was too tough for you:

I have posted the two editorials and one extra that lumingchow couldn't find.

They are lengthy and not totally in Walker's favor but give a fair expression of what is true.

None of us do well when we take everything and turn it into a mess.

For the record, I hope that Governor Walker prevails against Mike Tate and his merry band of union thugs from Jesse Jackson's son's Bud Dealership in Chicago.

No WONDER loonyming hates him... he's a conservative, he can balance a budget and he's actually doing a GOOD JOB!!!

Anyone can balance a budget if you don't give a damn about the consequences of the cuts you make.

When it comes to job creation, Walker doesn't seem to be much of a success.

New preliminary figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics show Wisconsin with 2,739,500 total employees on nonfarm payrolls through December 2011.

That's up 3,200 for the year -- a 0.12 percent increase -- and puts Wisconsin 45th for total job growth compared to the other states and the District of Columbia.

The only states with a worse percentage increase in 2011 were Rhode Island, Maine, Missouri, Georgia, Alaska and Delaware.

snip

In a separate report released Wednesday, the Center on Wisconsin Strategy notes that the state now has a jobs deficit of 215,300 -- the difference between the number of jobs Wisconsin has now and the number it needs to match its pre-recession employment levels.

The number includes the 148,700 we still need to make it back to December 2007 levels of employment, plus the 66,600 additional jobs needed to keep up with the 2.3 percent growth in population since the recession began," reports the liberal-leaning UW-Madison think tank.

Gov. Scott Walker has touted his job creation efforts, saying his administration is creating an environment where the private sector can flourish.

state Sen. Robin Vos The reason I am more than a little familiar with Wisconsin politics. I am originally from there and have family still there and my niece is an aide to Sen. Vos.

Thanks for the clarification. I live in Wisconsin, not as a native but formerly a member of the Wisconsin Democrat Party until Mike Tate and his pre- pubescent permanent student associates took over.

When Walker wins the recall...and hopefully all the senators facing recall prevail on June 5th, I hope to be in Madison so I can kick the bastards in the ass and make them get a real job.

Listen sometime to Charlie Sykes on TMJ620 for what he calls Tate.

The consequences of his cuts are going to save the tax payers of Wisconsin. That helps put money in to the pockets of the people, it spurs economic activity and in turn actually builds the coffers of the Government. But these are things that take time. Just as it took the Democrats decades to run the state in to the ground.

Oh and just so you know. Government cannot produce jobs. It can only get out of the way of the job producers and free up those producers own capital which they use to expand, grow and hire. Which is exactly what Walker intends to do.

You aren't making a point. You are using an out of state opinion piece to imply that Walker is using state funds to fund his campaign which of course is a bald face lie.

The MJS at least has the minimum respect for truth when it only mentions that some 'question' the timing which is fair.

The article I posted is pretty darn accurate. The tile says "fight off recall" not "fund his campaign".

In this case timing is everything, the point of the article. Walker is using state funds to make himself look good to all them unemployed people in Milwaukee, and to progressives in general.

Gov. Scott Walker announced a $100 million economic initiative Monday designed to create jobs and improve industry in inner-city Milwaukee.

“Transform Milwaukee” will focus on the creation of an industrial, residential and transportation district, focusing on the poorest sections of the city, including its 30th Street corridor.

The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority has committed $100 million to the Transform Milwaukee project over the next two years. It will be working with federal agencies as well as private foundations on neighborhood improvement projects the groups hope will create jobs and promote new business.

The article I posted is pretty darn accurate.

Please quantify *how* you determined this. What methology did you use to make such a pronouncement? What were your assumptions, and your null-hypotheses?

Provide the DATA which backs up your pronouncement.

If you can't (as usual), then just confess that you're just talking shit again, and we'll move on.

As the old expression says, "without data, you're just another person with an opinion."

It's her M.O. Throw out bullshit statements to derail a discussion, without a shred of proof.

When you provide evidence that she's lying, she pretends not to understand, and throws out more bullshit.

She faithfully follows the typical Disinformationalist Traits and Tactics.

When you call her out on her disinfo tactics, or present irrefutable facts, she and her ilk scatter like roaches. OR- if she REALLY can't let it go- she'll switch to her other persona (mininggold), and continue the attack, while carefully staying away from anything resembling reality.

It's most amusing when she "talks" to herself; at that point, she's finished, but still refuses to admit it.

She's very consistent- which makes it all the more fun.

The early 60s and they cut somebody's hair who is now dead and his sister does not remember him being traumatized by it and the quotee says it was terrible but he doesn't remember it?

Is that the story?

I convinced the family barber to give me a Mohican in 1947 after telling him my father said it was okay. My father made me have it all shaved off and wear a hat until I could get a 'natural' buzz cut.

Until the day he died he never admitted he did that. I am traumatized to this day to the extent that my hair has all fallen out.

You know of all of the "FACTS" I've seen thrown about on this thread the one I don't see is how many private sector jobs Walkers (Leftard) predecessor lost during his tenure..... 150,000+!!!!

Leftardism/Liberalism: The chickenschitt way to deal with life’s problems by creating solutions to problems that don’t exist, thereby creating a problem where none existed before and then having to find a solution to that one…

Another cogent argument from Eric.

Indeed. And you've confirmed the point.

Thanks for the laughs... ALWAYS a good way to end the day. :)

'It's now very common to hear people say, "I'm rather offended by that", as if that gives them certain rights. It's no more than a whine. It has no meaning, it has no purpose, it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. "I'm offended by that." Well, so fucking what?' —Stephen Fry

Yeah if you can't believe commentary from that bastion of capitalism, Forbes, what can you believe?

I pretty much respect Steve Forbes but the media use of 'bloggers' and 'commentors' is a real turn-off for me. It's rather like using Alan Colmes and Juan Williams as 'balance' on Fox.

Truth in lending: I am frequently quoted in the NYT, WaPo, WSJ and the CFR, but they never pay me a dime because I don't write for them, just to them.

Another example of the database never lying.

Today, Walker is going to win a huge victory. The Democrats have pulled all funding for what they now see clearly is a political disaster.

Walker 2, Union Thugs 0

Proxy IP's are amusing.....lmao
