He revisited the same locations a decade later, and rephotographed them from exactly the same viewpoints to document the drastic social and economic transformations that came about during the time between the photos. To: Mad Dog (#1) Actually Steve, I lived in Berlin during the early 1960s and saw what a travesty the wall and the partitioning of Germany was. These photos make me happy that the reunification of Germany has been a good thing and a success. I want to go back there sometime and see this country again, visiting Berlin and bavaria where I also lived. I only drank when I was in the Army, and that was just to socialize, because one does not get anywhere socially there without being willing to consume alcohol at least socially. Even then, I nursed my beer and 'watered' the house plants at anywhere I was at a home party. To me, four beers meant I was at my limit. I never went over it, in fact I rarely got to it. 1980 was the last time I drank a beer, it's been way longer since I drank distilled spirits. It helps I still can't really stand the taste of beer.
