Title: Ron Paul: Mitt Romney Only ‘Marginally’ Better Than President Obama

On Thursday’s edition of Laura Ingraham‘s radio show, Congressman Ron Paul explained his skepticism that presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney would be any better than President Obama.

After describing why he thinks it’s silly to assume Romney’s election would be a cure-all, Ingraham pressed Rep. Paul on whether Romney would at least be “better” than the current president:

INGRAHAM: Would you disagree, then, with Giuliani and others when they say that there is no doubt Mitt Romney would be a better president than Barack Obama?

PAUL: Yeah, I think, marginally so.

He explained that it isn’t that Romney doesn’t necessarily have better ideas, it’s that historically changing parties never seems to truly change anything about how government grows.

“I think Romney would probably be better on the tax issue,” Paul surmises, but then explains how even though George H.W. Bush was supposed to be “good” on taxes — after all, he said “Read my lips: No new taxes!” — history unfolded otherwise. Paul did concede, however, that Romney’s Supreme Court picks would be more conservative, and thus potentially better than second-term Obama’s picks.

But Dr. Paul’s assessment is largely correct. It’s no secret that the two parties – once you cut through the partisan bickering – implement policy in a very similar fashion, regardless of who is in power. Ronald Reagan, the great “conservative” president, didn’t actually make big spending cuts. Government grows under both parties, and they both generally make a mess of foreign policy and civil liberties.

Heck, just look at look at health-care. The very policy known as “Obamacare” was instituted in a similar fashion by Mitt Romney, then-Governor of Massachusetts. (And hey, remember: the policy was pretty much conceived by Newt Gingrich and the conservative stalwarts at Heritage Foundation.)

ROTFL ...

Ron needs to take another look at Romney's judge picks as governor. They're horrible, and as queer as yukon.

Obama's watch stopped on 24 May 2008, but he's been too busy smoking crack to notice.

We are better off with the asshole we know then the asshole we don't. I'm not voting for either, but I would say Obama is marginally better then Mitt. And that's not saying much.

True, but...

Barack Obama doesn't understand how the private sector works at all. He's a know nothing academic. His administration is filled with no nothing academics. He has appointed the fewest people with private sector experience of any President in more than 100 years. They have put a regulatory choke hold on the economy and want to make it even worse by raising taxes.

Romney understands the private sector. Obama does not.

Is Romney going to slash and burn government and usher in a new age of libertarianism?

Unfortunately not.

But he will let up on the regulatory and tax choke hold that the Obama administration has placed on business activity.

Romney's judicial choices as Gov. of Massachusetts were made in the context of a overwhelmingly Democrat legislature which had to approve them. Likewise his choices as President will be made in the context of the Congress We the People choose to work with him.

Romney recently named Judge Robert Bork as leader of his judicial advisory committee, which is a signal that he at least is willing to listen to conservatives in regard to judicial appointments.

Mitt Romney Only ‘Marginally’ Better Than President Obama

That makes perfect sense. The actions of the Bush junta and their partisan sycophants proved that Republicans are only "Marginally" less left than Democrats, despite their meaningless rhetoric claiming otherwise.

Do you actually believe what YOU posted? I don't. Romney wants to continue this farce of American militarism throughout the world. That takes bucks and that means tax the slaves/knaves/wee-widdle-peoples and so forth.

BIG-PHUCKING-DEAL. That perspective has nothing to do with the current HUGE problems that Ron Paul addresses ... meanwhile Romney has a fetish to go after Iran.

It could be part of the master plan ... the way Salley/yukon/the admiral/etal intend to shift publick opinion about queers and still have the phucking gall to say to they are "conservative."

Ron Paul is one of the GREATEST humanitarians in America, today. As an example, when he ran his medical practice he lowered his fees to needy people at COST only. No stinking medicare/medical BS. He lived&breathed his ideals into his profession and he was highly successful, too.

Of course, here at LF, we have some charlatan that is humorously called AKA Stone as a living&breathing idealist that falls off of roof-tops and blames EVERYONE&EVERYTHING for his own plight in O-HI-O.

There is quite a distincktion in publick record.

BIG-PHUCKING-DEAL.

To some folks who see him as our likely next President, knowing Romney isn't the wild-eyed liberal that his opponents often portray him as IS a big deal.

-btw Romney's fetish with Iran isn't as big as yours. You part Persian boy?
