LEFT WING LOONS Title: Being Anti-Gay Makes You A Homophobe And Closet Homosexual Being Anti-Gay Makes You A Homophobe And Closet Homosexual April 24, 2012 by Giacomo The mantra of activists is once again heating up in their attacks of anyone who disagrees with them. If you are against homosexuality, according to them and new study, it means that you are a homophobe (fear homosexuality) and that you are most likely a closet homosexual yourself. Researchers from the University of California at Santa Barbara, University of Essex in England and the University of Rochester in New York worked together on a study that was recently published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. Their study looked at parenting and sexual orientation and how they play a role in forming ones own understanding of homosexuality. Their research was conduct in the United States and Germany and involved surveying around 160 college students in each of 4 separate studies. According to their findings, the researchers concluded that most people that fear or discriminate against homosexuals are themselves attracted to the same sex and are fighting or repressing those feelings internally. Netta Weinstein from the University of Essex said, Individuals who identify as straight but in psychological tests show a strong attraction to the same sex may be threatened by gays and lesbians because homosexuals remind them of similar tendencies within themselves. Richard Ryan from the University of Rochester said, We laugh at or make fun of such blatant hypocrisy, but in a real way, these people may often themselves be victims of repression and experience exaggerated feelings of threat. Homophobia is not a laughing matter. It can sometimes have tragic consequences. However, I challenge their findings and conclusions based upon the ambiguous way the questions were worded and how the researchers interpreted the responses. For example, students were asked if they agree or disagree to a variety of questions. The questions were then used to determine the degree of homophobia within a household and the individual answering the questions. Here are some of those questions they used, ■I felt controlled and pressured in certain ways. ■I felt free to be who I am. ■It would be upsetting for my mom to find out she was alone with a lesbian. ■My dad avoids gay men whenever possible. The researchers automatically interpret feelings of being uncomfortable around a gay person or avoiding them to be evidence of fearing them aka homophobia. That is patently absurd with many cases and is very poor logic to use on such an emotionally charged subject as homosexuality. I am not comfortable being around gay men or lesbian women, but I do not fear them. I am uncomfortable because I see their lifestyles as the sinful abomination described in the Bible. I also dont like to be around liars and that isnt because I fear them either, I just strongly dislike being around people that cant tell the truth. Im sure that if I were to take their survey that they would label me as a strong or intense homophobe because of my strong and intense aversion to gays, lesbians, transgenders and bi-sexuals, but I dont fear them. In reading the report on the study, I didnt see any indication where the researchers allowed for religious beliefs of those individuals who responded negatively towards homosexuals. That didnt seem to be an option they were willing to consider. Now the gay activists are already starting to take these results and use them in their rhetoric to help justify their sinful lifestyles. They are pointing their fingers at you and me and calling us homophobes and closet gays. They will use the label of homophobe to accuse us of hate language and try to prevent us from saying anything publicly against them. Americas moral decency has been burned, singed and sadly what is rising from the ashes is a modern Sodom and Gomorrah. If our nation continues on this path of sinful debauchery, we are destined for a similar fate as befell the two ancient cities and all I can say is heaven help the faithful as they will also feel the wrath and judgment of God Almighty.

A post-positivist study, which means it likes scientific merit. As well, their wording of questions and arbitrary coding methodologies undermine the validity of this so-called "study," making it effectively worthless. Nothing like a bogus research project to wipe out any vestige of credibility from "University of California at Santa Barbara, University of Essex in England and the University of Rochester in New York." The professors that were supervising this study need to lose their jobs.
