And the right just goes right on picking nasty, sadistic idiots to represent their values. But he's a rich idiot, and since that's the only value that truly counts, all is well.

Stunned by the answer, the man walked away sad "because he had great wealth." The rich man loved the gift, not the giver.
Where does this leave Christians who are rich? In the company of Abraham, David, Solomon, and Joseph of Arimathea. It's not wrong to be rich. It's wrong to love riches.

So if it's okay to act like the rich Jews of the old Testament what's the point of Jesus even being born? The role models were already in place.
Christ did not come in order for us to be "like Him". He came because we could not have perfect union with God since we fell in to sin. We couldn't keep the Commandments of God, not even one. Christ came to do for us what we could not do for ourselves.

lol you were insisting that he was poor. He was just another laborer like most of us are in this life, though he most certainly gave that up to become the great teacher, prophet and most importantly Savior to all those who believe. You seem unable to make up your mind about Christ in any cohesive way. That doesn't surprise me though.
